A simple wish can turn into so much more."Let's go! We need that good spot" Jessie calls out as she throws her blankets onto her truck.
"Okay, we're coming!" I call out and help Maria with the small red cooler.
"Let me guess, Izzie drinks?" I ask Maria with a grin.
"You know me so well," she says and places her hand on her chest. I smile and laugh. "Alright, girls lets go!" Jessie says and shouts, we join in with her as we get in her truck.
We drive down the empty street full of nothing but a dark sky, and street lamps adding to the scene. I stick my head out a bit and let the cold comforting wind hit me.
"I'm so excited," I say as I get back in. Anything related to the galaxy out there makes me feel so special. The dark sky, moon, stars, and planets, they all give me butterflies.
Nothing and no one else can replace that, well maybe someone can but I haven't meant that someone.
"Wooo, here we are!" Jessie shouts as we drive up to the sightseeing area, it's full of people. Little kids running around with glow sticks, music playing at the right pitch, and sense of comfort.
"Let's go, Lucy! You can fall in love later, the boys are waiting for us!" Maria says as she and Jessie runoff.
"Oh right!" I say, and try to stay behind them. I don't know how fast they can be, but I know for sure I'm not fast.
As I'm running through the crowd of people, trying not to bump or trip over anything, I instead crash into someone.
I bump right in front of them, my head bouncing back from the impact.
I lost my balance and end up falling.
"Shoot, are you okay?!" I hear a guy's voice say. "Yeah, I'm fine," I say and try to get my eyesight back into place.
I do after a few seconds, and when I do, wow I thought I lost it again when I saw the person standing in front of me.
"Are you sure you're okay?" the guy with dark brown eyes, light skin, black undercut hair, and pretty tall says.
He puts his hand out and I do not hesitate to take it. Once he pulls me up he doesn't let go of my hand, he rather looks at it and then looks at me.
"I'm okay really, and I'm so sorry," I say.
He smiles and just nods. I don't know what this is but, our hands stay together throughout these few seconds of silence.
The silence goes away as we both here people's cheers and children "ahhs". We look up and see the shooting stars.
"Well, we should at least make a wish," he says and closes his eyes.
I smile and turn toward the sky, so does he while our hands still embrace.
"I'm Ethan Yugen".
"I'm...Lucy Kismet".
"You believe in fate?"
