The bell rings as I step into the entrance of the school and that means I'm already late. I run faster until I reach the corridor.
I haven't stopped at my locker because of hurrying. I reached the door of the room seeing Eddie outside the room sitting, lending his back to the walls.
I released a heavy sigh after I stopped running. What happened to him?
I don't know why he's outside while the class is going on.
"Hey, Edd. Why you're here?" I asked confusingly.
He just looked at me and shake his head, then again looked down. I wonder what's the matter with this guy.
"Hmm... You've been with a fight yesterday aren't ya?" I said.
He is still not answering me. Maybe I'm right. I sit down beside him. I know he can't resist telling me, he's always telling me about him.
"You're right." He finally answered "Belch and I just have a little arguments yesterday."
"Then?"
"Then... It turns out that I need to punch him."
I shake my head incredulously and released a silent laughter.
"Oh come on Edd, don't mind them. Bullies are everywhere. You're suspended for what happened yesterday, but you can't just go home, just wait for us here until the class ends. We'll go to the café, okay?"
He nodded. I went to class and sit down to my chair.
"Hey, Bill!" Richie whispers. "Where's Eddie?" He asks.
"Outside. He'll wait for us until the class ends." I answered whispering too.
"Great!" He exclaimed.
Our teacher gives us an assignment after our lecture. I think we need to go to the library afterwards.
* * *
"Hey, Bill! Why you're late earlier?" Beverly said.
"Just a little bit of traffic. Good thing I pass through." I explained and wink at her.
She just smiled. We went outside but I can't find Eddie. Where did he go?
"Wait... I thought Eddie was here?" Stan asks confusingly. But I thought he agreed that he'll wait for us.
"I don't know... But, I swear, he was just here, sitting after I left him." I said narrowing my eyes staring at the corner where Eddie sits earlier.
"Let's just go to the library and find him afterwards." Mike suggested.
Everyone agreed so, we went to the library.
We entered the library quietly. We look for the rows where were the book we need. Until we find it, we look for a table where we will be comfortable.
I gaze my sight to the unto some tables until a saw a guy all alone reading a book. I knew that's him, Eddie's here!
I went to him. When he saw me he looked tensed and abruptly closed the book.
"What book is that?" I asked.
Then he opened it again and continue to read it.
"It's just a Harry Potter book." He answered.
"Okay..." I said and sat down beside him. "So, what's the big idea going here without telling us? We're worried about you Edd." I said looking disappointed.
"I'm sorry, okay. Look I'm the only one who's outside on that hour, then what am I supposed to do to entertain myself? That's why I went here." He explained further.
"I guess you're right." I say "Hey, we have an assignment make sure you can cope with our lesson."
"I will." He said and again, read.
I shake my head slightly and open the book I brought looking for my assignment.
After a few minutes, we just heard Ben shouting at the library, saying that he found something that would make the librarian say "You! Quiet!"
"Sorry." Ben answered and put the big book on the table.
Dark Hell is the title on the cover page carved with some kind of ancient gods or monsters.
It has a lock like a forbidden book. The book is black and designed with gold ink.
"Wait... Where did you get that?" Asks Bev.
"I don't know. I just found it under the shelves." Ben answered.
"Guys, maybe this is just a worthless book. How could possibly an ancient like book will be here and... Under the shelves?" Stan look confused and frustrated staring at the book.
Ben sighs, "Well, let's find out."
He was about to open the book when Richie whispers to stop.
"What's the matter, Rich? This is just a book, nothing special." I said.
"But—" Edd cuts him off.
"Just open it!" He said and his voice raised louder that would get the attention of the librarian.
"What noise is that?! You children! Do you want to get out?"
"No." Eddie immediately answered.
"Then, be quiet!"
"Sorry, not going to happen again." I said.
"Good!"
We were really quiet on that hour. Ben slowly open the first page of the big book and we saw a picture of a village.
