I have decided to begin this book with Yoruba mythology stories so here is a brief summary of their origins.

The origin of the Yoruba's in Nigeria can not be clearly deciphered, it is believed that their primary ancestor oduduwa came from Egypt and settled in ille-ife. This assumption is based on the resemblance of the sculptures found in Egypt and the sculptures found in the mythology center of Yoruba life,  the city of Ile-Ife.
According to Yoruba myth their ancestors were the seven sons of oduduwa.
The Yoruba still refer to themselves as children of oduduwa when he died, his property was divided among his seven sons and the Yoruba grew after a period of wars.
Even though they had a common origin, religion and culture they Never combined into a single political organization.
The Yoruba people are a large ethnolinguistic group or ethnic nation in Africa, and the majority of them speak the Yoruba language. The Yoruba's constitute approximately 21 percent of Nigeria's total population and around 40 million individuals throughout the region of west Africa. While the majority of the Yoruba's live in western Nigeria there are also substantial indigenous Yoruba communities in Benin, Ghana, Togo and the Caribbean.
The Yoruba's are the main ethnic group in the states of Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo which are subdivisions of Nigeria. They also constitute a sizable proportion of Kwara, Kogi and Edo States as well .
