Losing sight of you

Chapter 3

Sapphire's POV

"SAPH, DIANA'S HERE FOR YOU!" Carly, my sister screamed from somewhere downstairs.

I groaned in annoyance, shifting underneath my warm blanket.

"ASK HER TO GET HER DAMN ASS UPSTAIRS" I screamed back, mentally cursing that annoying human being I call my best friend.

Okay technically she's my only friend, but that doesn't matter right?

I smiled to myself as I heard a string of annoyed curses floating through my room, as footsteps made their way up the never ending flight of stairs.

"Hey Di!" I said as soon as I heard her enter the room, her familiar honey scent filling the air around me.

She huffed as she sat down on the bed, the mattress sinking down as her weight settled down near my head.

"You're lucky I love you Saph. I don't climb stairs just for anybody you know?" she said seriously.

"You're burning calories without going to the gym. I'd be thankful if I were you Di" I joked back, even though I knew that there was absolutely no need for her to work out, what with that perfect body of hers.

She chuckled lightly and lay down next to me, shifting on her side to face me.

"So what's today's agenda?" she asked, taking a strand of my blue hair between her fingers and twirling it.

Yes, my hair is blue because I dyed it.

What can I say? I needed a change.

"Oh nothing much. Just going to help Carly with her projects, and read a few more books later on. Maybe listen to some depressing songs and live the ultimate loner life" I joked.

Diana's hand stilled, and after a second she took my hand in hers and softly squeezed it.

"I'll take you for a walk after? Ryan's busy tonight so date night is going to get a rain check. As usual" she said softly.

Ryan's been Diana's boyfriend since high school, and they've been going strong for 3 years. But right now their relationship was seeing a rocky patch, but it was nothing that they couldn't overcome. They were the ultimate power couple and Ryan was like a big brother to me.

I smiled happily at her suggestion and squeezed her hand back enthusiastically.

"I'll see you at 7 then" I replied happily, and then immediately cringed after I realised what I said.

"Sure girl" Diana replied without missing a beat, clearly missing the point in what I said.

She got up then, and muttered her good bye before pattering down the stairs noisily.

I felt around my bed sheet, cursing when my hand came away empty.

Where the hell is that goddamn stick?

Suddenly my hand felt something hard and familiar ( get the dirty thoughts out of your heads people) and sighing with relief, I pulled it out from where it was wedged between my bed and the dresser.

Then slowly I got up from the bed and made my way out of my room, my stick hitting against all the walls that would knock me over if they weren't detected.

I walked down to the kitchen where I knew Carly would be, experimenting with all her wacky dishes that she probably saw on some TV show.

And right now, I swear I could smell burnt bread from the direction I was heading towards.

"Hey Carly! Stop loafing around and do your damn project!" I yelled, before backtracking towards her room.

"I donut even want to comment on how lame that pun was Saph" she retorted back.

"Aww you know that you loaf my puns" I cooed to her.

At that she let out a loud chuckle, and that just made my day.

Soo, yes I disappeared for more than a year because I kind of lost my inspiration.. and yes school was really hectic.
But now
I'M BACK!
