CHAPTER 1 - London

<><><><>

London. London. London

That's all that I could think about on my seven hour plane ride from New York to London. I was going to London for a new job that my mom had found for me. Ok... I know what you must be thinking. What a snob! She can't even find a job for herself!

I graduated from high school one and a half years ago and since then I've been working on different projects as a personal stylist. Now, my mom found this 'amazing opportunity'-her words not mine- to work as a personal stylist for a band (I don't know yet, it's supposed to be a surprise) that I cannot give up. But I have to admit, I am excited about this job! I mean, come on! Anybody would be.

But I already miss my dad and sis, who are back in New York. My mom's going to stay in London with me for a week till I settle in. I will sign a one-year contract on Monday two days after I land.

My eyes start to droop as sleep overtakes my body but I don't fight it, might as well enjoy another dream about my future job.

"Lizzy...Lizzy honey, wake up. We're going to land." My mom said interrupting my dream in which I'm helping a guy pick clothes for a formal event.

"Ok mom, two more minutes" I replied groggily.

I let out a gasp as my mom and I entered my new apartment. It was beautiful! I know that it was going to be good seeing as my mom will never buy something that is anything short of expensive and luxurious, but this apartment is absolutely stunning. What made it even more exciting was that it was going to be mine! Mom had visited it earlier, stayed for a week and had her personal interior designers do my whole apartment. I wanted to decorate it on my own, especially my room, but I had to finish my last project back in New York so I couldn't come to London sooner and once I reached here I wouldn't have had time because I had to start my new job.

The living room had a huge TV, black leather couches were arranged in a semi circle in front of the TV with a coffee table in between them. It had a huge window overlooking the beautiful city. The kitchen was big and spacious with marble counters and stainless steel equipment. The dining room had a mahogany table which sould seat six people. There were three bedrooms. The master bedroom was mine. The bed had a purple canopy. Facing the bed was an LCD TV. There were lavender couches and a small glass table on the side. There was also a white dresser, a light purple bookshelf and a small computer table on the other side. I had an attached bathroom and a walk-in closet. In case you're wondering, then yes, purple and white are my favorite colours.

Then there were two identical guest bedrooms which had a bed, a bathroom, a dresser, a small couch, a table, and a small TV each. They were nice and cozy. The first one was green-themed and the second one was blue-themed. Overall the apartment had a homely feeling to it and was small unlike my penthouse back in New York that I shared with my family, which was huge, not that I'm complaining, I like this apartment just like it is.

"I'm going to unpack now mum." I called out to my mom who just came into the living room after using the washroom.

"Ok honey. Dinner's at seven." she replied.

I opened my suitcase and started unpacking quickly. I always packed and unpacked fast, I didn't like to procrastinate but I had my days too when I didn't feel like doing anything other than lounging around.

"Did you talk to Rebecca?" my mom asked after putting down her glass of water.

"Yup, just Facetimed her." I replied.

"Dad said that she's really missing you."

"I know...me too."

My sister and I shared a close bond so leaving her wasn't easy for me but I knew that I had to at some point. She is two years younger than me and is currently in her sophomore year in high school. My parents promised her that she could come visit me in summer.

After dinner I cleaned my dish and headed to my room after saying a quick goodnight to my mom.

Even though I couldn't wait for tomorrow when I'll go sightseeing with my mom, as it was my first time in London, I was dead tired after the long plane ride and I couldn't wait to hit the hay.

I quickly changed into my pajamas, brushed my teeth, combed my hair and dived straight to my comfy bed.

Soon my eyes drooped and sleep overtook me.
