Chapter 4 – The Boys
“Oh…um, yeah…sorry” stammered Harry as his cheeks turned a rosy pink. Niall just looked amused as he waited for Harry to regain to ability to speak.
“Well Liz, this is Niall, Liam, Louis and Zayn. 4/5th of One direction” He said while pointing to each of the four boys. I gave them a smile while taking in their appearances. Niall was tall, blonde, and super cute and had grayish-green eyes unlike Harry’s which were bright green. Liam was also tall (in fact all of them were tall), a brunette, had blackish-brown eyes and a few freckles on his face, he was handsome, no doubt. Next was Louis, he had light brown hair and light brown eyes. Last but not the least Zayn, he was hot, taken but hot! He had black hair with a gold streak, black eyes and rugged looks. He looked like your typical bad boy.
“And guys, this is Liz. She was my best friend and neighbor back in New York” finishes Harry, putting an arm around my shoulder and pulling me close.
“Hey Liz” they all chant. Liam and Louis give me small smiles. Zayn gives me nod and smile while Niall smirks and winks at me.
While we were exchanging formalities, I didn’t notice that a man and two women had walked into the room. They were talking to mom and Anne. When I looked at them, they made their way over to us.
“Hello, I’m Paul Higgins, the manager of One Direction.” He said while holding out his hand for a quick shake. Paul had a well-built muscular body. He held an aura of authority and seemed like a man who knew what he did and did not take crap from anybody.
“Nice to meet you.” I replied.
“Rhonda Simmons, the boys’ personal assistant” said the lady standing next to Paul, while giving me a kind smile. She was petite, couple of inches shorter than me. She had curly dark hair and seemed to be in her late twenties. She wore black rimmed glasses and held a notepad and pen in her hand.
“Hello” I greeted.
“Cassy Hayes, the boys’ hair stylist and specialist.” said the second woman curtly. She looked like she was going for a movie premier. She was wearing a stunning red dress which came a few inches below her butt. Her blonde hair were perfectly styled and placed over one shoulder. She was wearing 4 inch red heels which matched her blood red nail paint. It was as if someone had dumped the color red on her. She seemed like the queen bee of high school in her days. Cassy looked like she was around my age only.
“Hi” I said smiling hoping to wipe that scowl off of her face. No luck.
“Well now that we are done with the introductions, let’s start with the business.” Paul said while taking a chair on the conference table and indicating us to do the same.
I ended up sitting with Harry to my right and Niall to left.
“So, Elizabeth Stone, I went through your resume and I’m quite impressed. Straight A’s and I believe that you have worked several projects as a personal stylist after you completed your high school” says Paul.
“Yes I have.” I said. Harry bent down and whispered in my ear “the same old Lizzy, I see”, to which I answered with an elbow to his gut.
“Well I have already discussed the terms and conditions of the contract with your mother and-“
“And I have also gone through them, after all I am taking the job not my mom.” I interjected, a little irked that he thought that I will sign a contract which I haven’t even read.
“Of coursed” Paul forced a smile but he was glaring at me for interrupting him. “I just need you to sign here. We will also be going to different places over the course of the year, for promoting the new album which is due, so you will be required to accompany us along with the rest of the staff.” He finished while handing me the contract in my face.
“Oh, I love vacations!” I replied, taking out a pen to sign the contract.

Half an hour later, we had discussed the terms and conditions of the contract and I had signed it, so now I was officially the personal stylist for One Direction! Yay!
So now, the boys, Anne, mom and I were going out for lunch. Harry had invited Cassy, Rhonda and Paul to join us but they had declined saying that they had work to attend to.
I think that out of the three, I only wanted Rhonda to come because she was the only one who was nice to me. I hated Cassy. She was a dumb blonde. I know that I should not prejudice because I am a blonde too! But seriously, what is her problem? She certainly did not try to cover her dislike for me. Paul on the other hand was okay, I guess. But I did not think he was the type who would go out for lunch with his colleagues.
Now we’re all off to China’s Chinese for lunch. Hopefully, I’ll get to know more about the boys because till now they seem pretty cool. Hopefully they’ll like my fashion sense because I officially start my job tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
