ALWAYS WATCHES: a Slenderman Story

Part 8: The Escape

  Finally, I woke up. I think I've slept for a few good hours. Somehow I was also alive... Slender didn't actually kill me! That means he wants to use us for something else though... maybe he wanted to turn me into a Proxy... I really don't know. Anyway, I was in a really dark cave. I couldn't see ANYTHING. I was attached to the wall with some kind of weird rope, I couldn't move. At first I thought, I was in the cave by myself. I wasn't right. After a few moments I've touched someone lying right next to me. Something.... wet, and gross. I've just realised I had a small flashlight on me. I took it out of my pocket and I turned it on. The thing that was next to me was... Charlie! He didn't do anything, really. He was just staring at me, staring, and staring. It was kinda creppy. I think he was really mad because I was just touching him... heh. Anyway, I believed there was someone else next to me. I began looking around me. Finally I saw someone about 1 meter away from me. It was the soldier, Max. He didn't wake up yet... he definetly wasn't dead, though. I could see him breathing. I threw my flashlight at him as quietly as possible, hoping that I will wake him up. I suceeded. First he was just so mad at me, he was shouting like crazy. Then he realised Charlie was really close to him. He didn't move a muscle. After a few minutes, that seemed a bit weird for him now. Charlie just staring at us... yeah. That was really weird and akward, kinda.
-Uhh... hey, kid... uhh... what the hell is happening?- Max said.
-Well, Max, I really don't know either, my name is Jack by the way...- I anwsered.
-Well Jack, nice to... meet you I guess. Hold up, how do you know my name?
-Ugh... nevermind. We HAVE TO get out of here. Any ideas on our "sweet" escpape?
-Hmm... let me think...- the soldier was silent for a moment- yes, yes! I've got an idea! Jack, be still and quiet...
After Max said that, he pulled out a knife out of his pockets. He began cutting the weird rope that was keeping us attached to the wall. Slowly but surely... There was one small problem though, Charlie was still watching. He was just sitting there though... staring... and staring... but nevermind. After a minute, Max finnaly cut the rope. Charlie still wasn't doing anything. Max also cut my rope, after that we slowly stood up. Then Charlie has finally done something. He gave out a loud and terryfiyng scream, he stood up and he ran up to us. Max quickly pulled out his pistol and he shot the beast in the head. Charlie fell on the ground. We thought he was dead, but after a few seconds he stood up again. This time the soldier shot him in the legs. Charlie fell over again, but this time he wasn't standing up for a big ammount of time. We used to opputurnity and we ran into the darkness with our flashlights. We didn't see any signs of Kyle or the other soldier. Max said his name is Darwin. After a few minutes just running into nowhere, we found something. Some kind of... gathering I guess. The first thing we saw were our friends, Tom and Darwin. We've felt like someting else is here though... we decided to hide behind a few small rocks. We waited for a few minutes, seemed like our friends didn't notice us. Good, at least they won't shout or anything and they won't make Charlie, Kate or Slender come here. After a few more moments, we saw someone approaching in the darkness. It wasn't Charlie, it was Kate. What was weird about that, she didn't have her machete with her... she stood there for a few seconds. I think she was waiting for someone. I was right. Slender Man appeared in front of her. She stared at Kate for a moment, then he moved his sight on Darwin and Tom. Slender went a bit closer to them, still staring. He said something, we didn't understand what though, it was in some kind of weird language... I haven't heard it anywhere before. Then, the weird rope that was keeping Tom attached to the wall dissapeared. We've thought Slender free'd him! We weren't right though. Slender Man quickly grabbed Tom and lifted him up above the ground. Then, the tentacles grew from Slender's back. They were slowly going all around him. I was way too scared to do anything there, but Max stood up as fast as possible and he cut off Slender's tentacles with his knife. Slender Man dropped Tom, he said something in his weird languge and he dissapeared. I think Slender and Kate were trying to turn Tom and Darwin into Proxies... welp, talking about Kate, she was really angry and mad now. She jumped at me, she was hitting me in the face real hard. Tom quickly kicked her off me. She was stunt for a moment, Max free'd Darwin and we ran into the darkness once again. It felt like it was a maze or something. After about 15 minutes of running, we saw THEM catching up to us, Kate and Charlie. Now we ran even faster. When the Proxies were about a metre away from us, Darwin slowed down, he grabbed his gun and his knife and he began attacking the beast. Max began doing the same. "Run, just run!!" they shouted, we've done what they've said, we had no other choice. After a few more moments we began hearing... screams. Lots of screams. We couldn't go back though. We had to find the exit. Finally, we've found it. We quickly exit the caves. There was quite a big bush in front of the entrance, no wonder no one has ever found it. When we were outside, the sky was dark and it was flashing with stars, it was night time and it seemed like the sun will rise soon. We decided to wait a bit in front of the entrance, maybe one of the soldiers survived, who knows. After about a hour, we could hear someone in the cave, then we could see him... It was Darwin.
-Thank god you're alive!- I shouted- but... but where is Max?
-He... didn't make it... Charlie killed him...
-God... that's horrible... but guys, we have to get out of here!- Tom said.
After that, we quickly ran to the exit of the park, and we went out of it. Darwin said the military helicopters will arrive soon to take us out of this town. They will land next to the radio station. We all decided to go there...
