Children of the Heroes: Alpha

It was a nice happy day, as usual in New Rome. Grover was outside, talking to Juniper while their son Tatar played on the ground. I was teaching the new demigods how to use a sword. But today was even more wonderful. It just seemed like everything was perfect for once in my life. It seems so long sense Gaia was defeated. Jason and Piper just had their first child back at Camp Half-Blood.

It wasn't to long ago sense Annabeth and I had our twins. My boy was sitting on the floor with Tatar beating the ground with some drumsticks I carved for him. He always seemed to like music, unlike me. Annabeth said maybe it was time for some of us to learn more than just fighting and surviving. But what she does not know it that I may have rigged them a little. But don't worry. They can only be used as a weapon when Jake needs them.

My daughter, Rayn, was sitting on her mother's lap playing with her hair when Annabeth put a Yankees baseball cap on her head. She disappeared, and I almost laughed out loud.

Maybe we were always wrong about all this. Maybe demigods can live a normal life after all. Well, as normal as you get when you're a grandchild of two major Greek gods....For one moment everything was clear, no problems, no worries, no gods, monsters, giants, or titans at my neck.... That moment only lasted so long....

I looked up to the sky and saw a giant ball of fire coming down at us.

"What's happening, Grover?" I asked nervously as I un-capped Riptide. The ball hit the ground and to my amazement I looked to see a giant golden metal dragon with no other than Leo Valdez sitting on top. Sitting next to him was Calypso. "Leo! You're alive!?!?!?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah...." he said. "

"No time to explain! Just run! Get everyone out of here before it's too-" Then suddenly a giant swarm of monsters came rushing in the camp. "late...."

"Go get the others! Now!" I ordered Grover. The monsters were getting closer now. I realized these were not any ordinary monsters. These were all the monsters I, or any of us, have ever destroyed. Just then, I heard a war horn blow, and all the campers came storming down the hills towards the monsters. Leading the army was Frank, Hazel, Clarisse and Thalia, probably the two best fighters we have. Then I see them. The Minotaur, the Furies, and Dr.Thorn, all in a group, running straight towards me. With them, was a giant swarm of various monsters. I held up Riptide, and charged, while Leo shot balls of flames at some monsters.

"I see you guys got kids now....hmm.." Leo said while dodging a claw.

"Grub gronk!" snorted the Minotaur. Dr.Thorn cackled. With Leo by my side, we were able to fend them off from the children.

"You too?" I said as I noticed Calypso holding something in her arms.

"Remember me, Sweetie?!?"screamed Mrs. Dodds. She slashed with her whip.

"I wish I didn't!" I answered, as I swung with Riptide, and parried her attack. Her two sisters swooped in at the same time, and got the same slash from Riptide.

"Percy!" Grover screamed from across the field. "Your children!"

"Get them out of here now!" I screamed. I looked in horror as Frank and Hazel's son was being surrounded, while I saw Annabeth fighting some Impota.

"Nyeeeh!!!" the Impota screeched while swinging at Annabeth. Annabeth fell to the ground unconscious. Out of her arms crawled out Rayn.

"But..."

"Now! I don't want them to be in any danger!!" I screamed as I swung at the Minotaur once more. Grover lunged under the group of monsters and swooped up the grandson of Pluto and Mars. Then him and Leo grabbed Jake and Rayn, and ran.

The monsters surrounded me. Then everything went dark.
