Nathan's P.O.V
Nathan tousled his silky black locks and smirked into the glistening mirror. Time to turn on the charm. As he strolled through the aisles of Barnes and Noble, he never once moved his eyes from his target. Stopping only a few feet away, he turned and pretended to be interested in the array of books in front of him. He cleared his throat, quietly but loud enough to be heard. Immediately, his prize snapped around and looked up into his eyes. She blinked rapidly, as though she was seeing things. Nathan snickered to himself; it was so goddamn easy.
"Hello, miss. I couldn't help but notice you from across the room. Do you believe in love at first sight? Because I used to be an unbeliever, but I felt as though I was being drawn over here," He said, making his voice ooze romance and become an octave deeper. Nathan didn't even need to continue, she was desperately digging through her purse and pulling out a shiny black iPhone and handing it to him with a dazed expression. Nathan groaned inwardly. He hated giving girl's his phone number, because then it would allow them to become clingy. And clingy was something that Nathan Fitzgerald did not allow.
"Instead of phones, why don't we meet here, tonight, at..."
"Dude. Ten. Need backup." A voice hissed from behind him.
Nathan didn't need to turn around to know that it was Sam, his curly blonde haired best friend and wing man. Ignoring him, he turned back to his flavor-of-the-week. Flavor-of-the-week? Make that flavor-of-the-day. Nathan had a rule about girls, and it was short and sweet. Hump and dump. After you get head and then take her to bed, never let her call or Sam get's to kick you in the balls. He and Sam made a pact in freshman year of high school that they would always be each other's wingmen and that if there was a 'ten' spotted, that one of them had to sacrifice to help a bro out. And if they both scored 'ten's'? Well...that had never happened yet. Ten's didn't usually hang out at the same place, they were rare and if you spotted one, it was likely that she was the only one within a mile radius.
Nathan sighed, and gave the girl a quick wink before turning and following Sam's retreating back.
"So are you gonna call?!" She cried as he walked away.
Women.
"So, where's the ten that you needed my help with?" Nathan drawled, casually sweeping the room for a ten.
Ten: Big chest, nice ass, gorgeous, intelligent, and not easy
Nathan spotted her. Nodding at Sam, he walked over to her with a small smile on his lips.
"Is that you? How long has it been!" He cried out, giving her a hug. The girl looked confused, but laughed and smiled at Nathan.
"Nathan. Aunt Tessa's son? We had so much fun that night!" Nathan said, smiling and continuing the charade.
"Nathan! Of course! How are you?" She said laughing genuinely.
"Just great! How rude of me, this is my buddy, Sam," Nathan said, gesturing to Sam beside him, "Oh darn, I have got to go to. Tess is going to kill me. You know how she can get."
Ten laughed, and nodded enthusiastically. Now Sam can go in for the kill...Nathan thought to himself as he walked out of the store. His phone beeped from his back pocket, and he took out his phone and smirked at the nude picture blondie had sent. Swiping his phone to send a response, he tripped on the uneven floor and crashed onto something. Or someone. Rubbing his arm, he quickly got up from the floor before anyone saw his embarrassing tumble. Brushing off his jeans, he noticed his phone lying on the ground and he quickly scooped it up and slid it into his pocket after checking it carefully for cracks.
"Um, hello? Are you going to fucking help me up or just let me lie here after YOU fell ontop of me?" A female voice had said.
Nathan looked down and saw an angry girl sitting on the floor, glaring at him.
"Oh shit..." he mumbled, before offering a hand to her.
She got up herself, ignoring his outstretched hand. Running her hand through her long auburn waves she looked at Nathan fully in the face. He took a step back when he noticed how gorgeous she was. Her smoldering green eyes seemed to pierce his own under curling lashes, the small slope of her nose, and pink full lips pursing in anger. Her slender body was noticeable in her cropped Beatles shirt and pale jeans, and perky breasts prominent due to her tightly crossed arms folded across her chest.
"My names Nathan, and might I say that..." Nathan begun, immediately switching into Player mode.
"Save it." She said, holding up a hand. She bent down and picked up the books scattered on the ground, giving a full view down the loose shirt she was sporting. Nate felt his pants grow tight and he stiffled a groan. "And maybe you should work harder to conceal that friend you have." After she had arranged the stack of books in her arms, and tucking her dropped phone into her handbag, she sauntered away.
For the first time in his life, Nathan was speechless. Not only had she publicly humiliated him, she had rejected him too. She hadn't even been affected by his good looks, it was like she hadn't even noticed them. He grabbed his iPhone from his pocket, and swiped at his phone. What the... Nathan thought, as he was greeted with a passcode. His phone didn't have a passcode. A light clicked on in his head. Inspecting the phone in his hands, he began to chuckle to himself as a plan already formed in his head. Nathan tucked the phone back into his pocket, and turned back towards Barnes and Noble. Now all he had to do, was wait for a call.
