Eren's Point of View

I looked to my right and saw Armin and to my left, Mikasa, the two still sleeping.

"Hey guys, wake up. It's 7:10, we gotta walk to school."

Armin shifted in the bed, pulling the blanket over his head.

"Eunghhhh. Eren, do you always have to be a killbuzz."

"Well if you stopped going on your phone so often looking at your damn 'waifus,' maybe you'd be less of a dumbass and wake up."

"Touché Eren . . . although that hurt a bit." He pretended to be stung by my comment and left to the bathroom to change, Mikasa already immune to our playful insults. But even Mikasa was sometimes more savage in her commentary.

By 7:30, we were set to leave our apartment, already a month since we lived there, it almost seemed natural. Armin still had his bed hair while Mikasa seemed to always have perfect hair compared to us, even when waking up. We were lucky that the cheap apartment we rented was only a block away from our school, but that meant seeing horse face earlier than usual. Not a really pleasant sight to see in the morning. I saw him up ahead in the gates running towards me, Marco trailing behind.

"Erennnnn. Let me copy your homework."

"What the. No. Do your own shit horse face. Last time I tried to copy, you did nothing. Karma's a bitch."

"So much for trying, huh Marco." Marco shrugged at Jean's comment.

All of us walked backed to class, and I saw Jean preparing for his punishment from the teacher.

"Jean, Where's your homework?" She said sternly.

"Well . . . you see . . there were some complications here and there. Sometimes life tells you not to do your homework, and life is a natural thing y'know. So you gotta obey and not do your homework." Jean said confidently grinning and giving a thumbs up to the teacher while the rest of the class gulped nervously for his death. The teacher smacked him in the head with the stack of papers.

"Next time, Kirstein. It won't just be your head that'll be missing." The class "oohed" at her comment and my snicker earned a hard glare from Jean. Still, gotta admit our teacher was savage or rather she just utterly hated Jean.

When class ended, the teacher called me up on a serious note. The word "serious" had me in despair that I probably didn't get the internship.

"Yeager. I'm surprised. You made it. Well, not that surprising since you are an outstanding student." I was  immediately ecstatic about the announced results, "Now hold your boats. They actually want you to go to their corporation today Eren. I'm not exactly sure why, but you have an appointment at 3pm, so I can just drop you off."

"Thanks teacher." I was pretty good at holding in my excitement, but the idea of a dream within my reach, it was pretty surreal. She dropped me off at Survey Corporations and bid me good luck driving off.

I could only stare in awe at the building. I mean, come on, there's a kid wearing shabby clothes standing at the door of one of the largest and most successful corporations, intelligent, well-dressed workers coming in and out. I mean, I can't just walk in there and be all nonchalant, "Yeah I have an appointment at 3pm. Not to brag, but just here for the internship. Gonna work here in the future anyways. Haha."  Yeah um, not gonna work with this appearance.

All right. Just gotta take the first step in. Wait, I'm not mentally prepared. Wait, ok. WAIT, NO.

"Yo brat, are you just going to cover the damn door or get in."

Flinching, I spun around, and saw a man in a suit , only slightly shorter than me. But when my eyes met his face, I could only stare at the dull gray eyes that pierced into mine. While I admit boys around my age have confessed, I believed I was not interested in the same party, but this shorter human had manly features that made me swoon; a strong jawline, sharp eyes, and a built physique despite his small stature. His deep voice spoke again making me flinch twice.

"Well, are you mute or what kid?"

"I'm sorry mister, who are you?"

"Levi, Mr. Ackerman to be precise. I'm the chief operating officer here, brat. And who the hell are you?"

"Eren Yeager sir, I'm taking on an internship here."

"Well, what are you waiting for? Get the hell in." He opened the door and kicked me, shutting off whatever interaction I had outside, for the only interaction I had inside, was now Mr. Ackerman. He looked back at me, his gray eyes piercing mine again. He opened his mouth,

"Follow me brat."
