Sensing his brothers' discomfort, Peter said

'Francis, I want to go to this party, so does mother, we enjoyed it last year, we can think of something...'

Francis was getting more and more uneasy by the moment, he felt he was losing the hold on the matter. 'What do you propose?'

'I say you come, but we'll tell mother you won't do the final game.' Peter said, thinking he solved it all once again. By final game, his brother knew almost instantly that his brother was talking about the peak of the party, the game of hide and seek in the darkened house, the only time he ever got separated from his brother.

Francis was ready for it. 'It won't work, what's the point of going if I don't do the final game, besides everyone will think I'm scared.' Peter knew that Francis hated being targeted and being called scared.

Peter wasn't going to give up so easily, though. 'Okay, give me a few minutes, I Will think of something.' No one could doubt that, as Peter never gave up easily, another thing that differed the twins. Peter sat down back slowly on his bed. He gave a few short bursts of incomprehensible words every few moments. Finally, he stood up and turned to his brother.

'I think I may have an idea, let me explain.' And Peter sat down next to his brother and he started whispering to him. Slowly at first and then they started whispering like mad, getting more and more excited at how everything was sliding into place. Only the fast trickling of the rain on the glass was able to cover their murmurs.

All thoughts of malingering had now completely left Francis's head. 'Okay let's get ready.'
