10. And Then It Happens.

"ARJUN SHARMA, YOU ARE SO DEAD." I could practically hear Anushka's yell from the other side of the door. A part of me was excited to meet her brother - the sole reason why I think Anushka had called me to her place.

We were seeing each other after a month of that almost kiss incident.

Whenever Anushka was around me, I could feel something. As messed-up as it was, I really liked talking to her, the feel of her arms, the smell of her hair. Every time we met, the sexual tension between us would soar higher.

Like every time we would meet, we would sit idly in my house, say goodbye without saying nothing at all, a touch of her forehead against me, the way she would wrap her arms around me, blush a little. And still, she hadn't kissed me. Not once, nothing - not even a brush of her lips.

I was beginning to go a little crazy.

My mind had basically fucked up ever since I hit myself against the wall, I thought bitterly to myself.

Okay. Breathe in, breathe out. Virat, for heaven's sake - she's a friend. Just a goddamn friend.

"Leave me alone! I've to give this presentation by tomorrow, Arjun. Ah," Anushka's exasperated voice broke the unending trail of my thoughts. Hesitantly, I pressed the doorbell - not ready to face her, and feel the same things all over again.

I heard a shuffling noise at the other end, and the door clicked open soon enough. Anushka stood in front of me, wearing a sassy tee and a pair of trousers and her characteristic bright smile. "Hi, Virat."

Her arms wrapped around me. She smelled intoxicating.

"Hey, Anushka." I had a morbid face, and the fact that I was fidgeting so much didn't help. When was the last time a girl made me so nervous?

I couldn't even remember. All I could remember was how I had an effect on the other girls. This feeling was so beyond recognition.

Anyway, a pair of big doe eyes stared at me whose presence I hadn't even felt a minute before. Anushka's brother, Arjun stared at me like I was a piece of meat. "Virat bhaiya!" he perambulated across the room. "I can't believe I'm seeing you right now. In front of me, live. In my house." He was such a fanboy. I couldn't help but ruffle his hair at his adorableness.

"This is my house, Arjun." Anushka smiled at him sarcastically. Arjun just stuck his tongue out to which Anushka sauntered closer towards him, pushing him away by his forehead with the help of the pen in her hand.

"This is my house, Arjun." he mocked at her, using the tone which wasn't even closely resembling Anushka's actual voice. I stifled a laughter, amused at the way the two siblings were fighting. I figured out that mimmicking her actions annoyed her a lot.

Arjun grinned at her, and I stiffened the urge to break into a fit of laughter as Anushka stared back angrily at him. Then she kicked him on the foot, and edged towards the couch. "Can you play with him? He has been bugging me to play FIFA with him but I really can't." she told me begrudgingly, pointing at the messy couch which was full of papers and her Macbook.

I frowned, giving her an appraising look. "that's the only reason you called me here?"

"Maybe Arjun is going to visit friend at 9 so we can share pizza or something sometime later at night."

The thought of having pizza wasn't attractive, honestly. But the thought of having pizza along-side Anushka was so alluring. I couldn't just refuse to it.
