【〝 History. 〞】
we got history.
hope's peak was home to students of various potential. only the best of the best were allowed into the prestigious school, and only because it guaranteed success if they graduate. some students take the whole academy seriously. others, on the other hand, make it a habit of rarely showing to class.
the super high school level pastry chef and super high school level florist were well acquainted. at least, that's how it seemed to those from an outsider level from their class. in reality, the two were at least close enough to freely talk now and then, even outside of class. they had realized that the other's establishment was well close enough from the other, so that made it easier.
yes, definitely easier. no need for sneaky glances, or quick curt messages every now and then that made them look more like delinquents trying to plan a scheme. no, they were merely two teenage boys trying to live life. that's all, really.
"you're dropping by later, right? we got plans, i hope you didn't forget!"
・・・・・
got me feeling the nostalgia when you look at me.
jabberwock island. a new location. no memories.
"i'm adrian diaz, super high school level pastry chef."
he smiles. a polite one, this one.
"haruichi kitabayashi. super high school level florist."
he shakes his hand. a bold one, this one.
"it's nice to meet you."
only new faces, and new potential for growth.
・・・・・
"welcome to the island life of mutual killing!"
at least, that's what they all thought.
"you gotta kill someone to leave the island!"
so who is there to trust?
・・・・・
thinkin' bout what could've happened or what could've been.
their days spent on the island together made it all the more memorable. they were both hesitant at first. one didn't approach the other until there was a favorable time. they were both just like that. cautious. hesitant. but then again, who blamed them? with every passing trial, the numbers diminished, meaning it raised the probability of either one of them being next. that scared them.
after a while, they had confided in each other a bit. generally grew closer through like-minded conversations and simple teasings. one didn't expect to actually open up to the other, while one didn't expect to actually make that close of a friend on the island during this horrid event of all things. that scared the both of them as well.
they were scared of opening up too much. they were scared of losing the other to this atrocious game. but even still, with the fear clutching at them, they found comfort in the other. one loves spending time with the other because of how easy it is to just converse. one would absolutely cherish their interactions solely because that's the happiest he's ever felt with someone. they're scared, sure, but they aren't when they're together.
"c'mon, flower boy, let's go. we don't wanna be here swallowed in the sand forever, do we?"
・・・・・
finally a face i know, ain't that a sight to see?
a scream. someone drops to their knees. nobody moves.
"he's in the bathroom! someone come here!"
the body was unmoving. one managed to push through. nobody wanted to believe it.
"oh my god, is that really him? no, don't tell me, please."
blood splattered all over the floor. the air in the room grew heavy. someone was already crying.
"yeah. it's haru. he's dead."
・・・・・
bet you got no one to make your day better, sun brighter.
monokuma's obnoxious laugh made the investigation all the more painful. the deceased's body was still in the room, and they couldn't avoid just trailing their eyes back to just... look. it was definitely a painful sight for most. select few had the chance to interact with him, and to grow close. it made just looking at haruichi kitabayashi's body all the more painful.
but within minutes, the bear's laugh rang through their ears again. it was time for the class trial. the one that would give the truth to who murdered the super high school level florist. the one that would reveal it all. the super high school level pastry chef might've been disoriented at best during the investigation, but on his way to monokuma rock, he knew he had to ready himself.
"i'm not giving up without a fight."
・・・・・
it was cold.
the room wasn't really widely known for having a... home-y kind of feeling to it. very little people rarely showed up because of how grave the room felt. others would prefer to head down to the beach, or simply stay confined elsewhere. the room held too much weight for their shoulders.
adrian knew it wasn't healthy. believe him, he knew. but he couldn't help it. not with their current situation either. it was all too much. there wasn't much he could do. that's what tore him apart even more. just the fact that he comes into that same very room, expecting so much, but receiving so little.
he lets out a sigh as the now familiar green hue of the pod room enveloped his senses. the pod room was never one that he liked to enter, but there was only one reason to be there.
"i'm home, haru."
i just wish i had someone
to say "i'm home" to.
