▪ Ship: Matsuda Yasuke x Hinata Hajime (matsuhina).
▪ AU: Pre-despair.
▪ Requested by: ---.
▪ A/N: This one I already wrote a long time ago. I just wanted to edit it and put it in here. It's more semi-informative than shippy, but that's near the end.━━ ➹ ━━━┊✦┊━━━ ➷ ━━
【〝 I'll Find You. 〞】
〝 If you want to find him after all that has happened this past week, then head towards the fifth floor's empty classroom. 〞
That was all it said on the piece of paper left at his desk. If Matsuda Yasuke had to make a guess as to who left this little letter he received, then he had a pretty sure guess of who it was. No doubt that this letter was written by her, but to go through the trouble of going after his current patient was annoying, to say the least. Of course, he was worried about him. Reason number one being that the academy had trusted Matsuda to keep him under surveillance before and after the surgery.
Matsuda had been trusted by Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Neurologist to take care of Hinata Hajime. Taking care of Hinata before the surgery might not have been a big deal, but he had to be wary of who he had Hinata around. Of course, most of Hinata's friends know who Matsuda is, since they're both in the 77th batch of the academy. But Hinata had been in the main department of Hope's Peak for different reasons other than how his classmates have been accepted into Hope's Peak.
For Hinata is a part of the Reserve Department, a department made by the academy open to regular high school students who wanted to enter Hope's Peak. The only way to enter the Reserve Department was to pay a rather costly entrance fee. After Matsuda and Hinata's first year at Hope's Peak, the average high schooler was allowed to enter the main department after being allowed by the staff at HPA under special regulations.
Matsuda had to take care of Hinata for an entire different reason. The Hope Cultivation Project was the start of it all. Hinata had heard about it after being told about it by their Ultimate Good Luck, the 77th batch's one. The Hope Cultivation Project was where they took a regular average high school student, and gave them a talent. They never specified if just one or many talents, just that there was going to be a drastic change to the person. After talking about it, they changed the name of the project to the Izuru Kamukura Project. Matsuda was going to be the one performing the surgery on Hinata, as being told by the staff before having to take care of him.
The Ultimate Neurologist's time with the Reserve Course student hadn't been a bad one, if he were being honest. He did find him a bit annoying at the beginning, yes, but he then grew to understand that the boy had almost the same sense of humor as the neurologist. Said sense of humor being witty sarcastic remarks every now and then. That was what the beginning of it all was. Soon after that, the two grew closer until time came where Matsuda was instructed to take care of him. That didn't change the environment between the two, it only made them a bit closer. Of course, that doesn't mean that any of Hinata's friends would see him any less. Same deal with Matsuda's acquaintances.
But now, Matsuda had to find her in order to get back Hinata. After seeing that the other wasn't around the academy for an entire week made Matsuda a bit worried.
After leaving the classroom he was in, taking the note with him as well, he power walked - jogged no less - up three flights of stairs just to make it to the fifth floor. Opening the note again, he skimmed through it and folded it back the way it was. Each classroom on this floor was spread out, so he had to walk and stop to search every now and then. The classroom down the hall was the final one he needed to search, so he jogged down to the door and opened it slowly once he reached his final destination.
After he opened the door all the way, lo and behold, it was who he was looking for, with someone else sitting by him in a nearby chair. Enoshima Junko, the Ultimate Fashionista.
"Yasuke-kun~! I knew you would come after receiving my invitation," cheered the fashionista, her red nails shining a bit as she raised her hands.
"Enoshima, what do you want with Haj-- Hinata? I don't have anymore time to waste," Matsuda asked, his arms crossed across his chest as he eyed the boy who was slumped over the desk asleep. He hoped that Enoshima hadn't noticed his slip-up.
"Hmm~? Does Yasuke happen to know Hinata-senpai? What a coincidence! I happened to be around the fifth floor when I saw him asleep on the desk like a baby," Enoshima drawled, feigning innocence. Matsuda rolled his eyes, already guessing that she was going to play the innocent card. He had guessed that much from her. She stood up from where she was standing and walked over to Hinata, poking his cheek with her nails.
"Y'know, Yasuke-kun, I didn't think you'd like the average boy type. Nice to know he'd make a perfect boyfriend for you." She turned towards Matsuda, only to break out laughing.
"Gyahaha! The look on your face, it's such a lovely shade of despair~," The gyaru teased the neurologist from over where she was with Hinata. She laughed at his expression when she mentioned the word "boyfriend." Said expression was a light blush at his cheeks and a scowl accompanied with a glare directed at her.
"Augh, shut up Junko. He'd probably be a better boyfriend than you can be a girlfriend. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to be taking Hinata back," Matsuda said with a scowl and glare, heading over to where the Reserve Course student and the Ultimate Fashionista were at. His scowl and glare were enough to distract Enoshima from what his first statement was. She might not have noticed what he said, and even if she did, she let it go. Hopefully.
"Sigh, alright alright. I had my fun while it lasted. But nothing's really fun when your sour attitude is here in the room," Enoshima said, crossing her arms across her chest, watching him. Matsuda bent over and slugged one of Hinata's arms around his neck. He then linked one arm under his knees, the other around his back. He then secured Hinata's head to be as comfortable as it can be on his chest. After doing all that, he hoisted him up, carrying him bridal style.
Enoshima snorted at the sight of this, then rolled her eyes as she said, "Wow, looks like I wasn't wrong when I said that he'd make the perfect boyfriend for you. You carry him as if he had died right here." Matsuda tried to ignore that last comment, not wanting to think about that scenario, but scowled in response to the rest.
ㅤ"Sigh, shut up, Junko," Matsuda rebuttaled with, he didn't even care if it was weak ammunition. "Yeah yeah, you know I'm right. You love him," replied Enoshima, closing the door to the classroom behind them. "Hmph, whatever," Matsuda said to end his conversation with Enoshima as they walked back downstairs.
Right after he said that, he absentmindedly made Hinata more comfortable in his arms.
