Worn out. Yet sated. That's what she felt.Worn out from all the sex. Yet sated with everything nice from all of it. That's what it felt like with Keith.
They'd consume each other for hours to no end, she'd call him names he'd wanted her to call him at all times, and screamed as hard as their neighbors when they get to shut them up at late nights.
She stares at his sleeping form, all naked and disheveled, but all the more attractive and sophisticated. No wonder this man that is laying with her on her shaky mattress has a PhD. A wonderful wife, and two children.
That is what they were quarreling about. Time, and pretty much the situation they're in. Keith can't be less than 35, he's young, well-built, and has the endurance of a fucking bull. But 23-year old Danes keeps up with him. And that is why he kept her for almost half a year now.
Danes hadn't keep track of how long she'd been staring at Keith when his eyes fluttered open and not even minutes later has his pants and his suit and tie on. She started to worry she got up so quick draping the duvet around her just as fast.
"I don't think you needed to be on the clinic while its under construction, or so you said, and I don't think you should be home now," If she wasn't watching him with such daze in her eyes, well she's probably doing it hardcore now.
"I don't think I needed to stay here longer than usual when I promised my wife and kids a trip out of town the next day."
The subtlety. That single subtlety of not caring caught here eyes. It might not be in connection to his profession but he hides his eye-rolling too well--almost as he's an expert, she almost missed it. But she didn't.
"Can't stay." More like won't stay. Ever.
Right.
He's used that tone before. After the first time they've slept in a cheap motel right after a drunken night, the time when Keith told her about already being married. That this is wrong, that they should stop.
He dropped her like a used piece of bloodied gloves. But went back to find her just as eager after a few months of being too frustrated with his incompetent wife lately--having been struggled at pregnancy after their two children, and took it all out on Danes.
She is as as open as a medical book to him. Unwavering, and always willing for him to study her, and explore parts of her. But the arguments that went on for months now, and his wife finding out about his infidelity, and the failure of losing his license? They both know where this is headed.
Danes will probably need to sell her soul to have the ability to make everything go back to normal pace again. But when is being with a man older than her, fucking behind his wife and children's backs normal?
"I left something on your account," Keith blankly stated without even looking at her as he fixes his stuff.
She knew what he'd been doing at her phone when she pretended to sleep. She fucking knew.
Flashbacks of her dropping all of her classes rushed back into her, all her friends cancelling on her, giving generic reasons on why they couldn't make it to coffee, even the look of disgust given by her professors clearly stating that she isn't wanted anymore.
