Oliver Wood was walking through the empty halls of Hogwarts. It was mid-morning so everybody was still in class, except for the seventh years, they had a free period. But most of them were outside enjoying the beautiful day. He was enjoying the beautiful day too, by playing Quidditch, but the Ravenclaw team had apparently reserved the Quidditch pitch and he was asked to leave. So, he decided to go up to the Common Room and relax for a while until his next period. After he said the password to the Fat Lady's portrait, he made his way inside the Common Room only to find somebody there. He spotted a girl he recognized was a few years younger than him. He knew who she was but he had never really talked to her. He noticed she was trying to clean up the mess around her. As he walked over to the girl, he saw that her face was covered in mud as was her uniform.
"(Y/N)?" he asked regretting it when she let out a high shriek and jumped scared. "S-sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" he told her.
"What do you want?" (Y/N) asked glaring at him. Oliver didn't really know why it stung a bit.
"Uh, shouldn't you be in class?"
"Shouldn't you be in class?" she asked as she went back to doing whatever she was doing.
"I've got a free period" he said shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, so do I" she muttered.
"No, you don't" he said confused. "Aren't you in fifth year?"
(Y/N) let out a sarcastic laugh. Of course Oliver Wood wouldn't even know which year you are. "I'm in sixth year" she informed him.
"Well, still... shouldn't you be in Herbology right now?"
"Ugh, what's it to you, Wood?" she snapped looking back at him. And that's when Oliver saw the tears in her eyes.
"N-nothing" he said not wanting to make the girl more upset. "You just shouldn't s-skip class, is all-"
"Oh, what are you, Percy Weasley, now?" she asked furious grabbing all the mess on the floor and putting it inside her bag. "Are you going to go tell Professor McGonagall that I'm not in class or something?" she continued as she stood up. "Well, go ahead, Wood! See if I bloody care-" (Y/N) tried to walk past Oliver but he gently grabbed her wrist and stopped her.
"No, wait" he said softly. (Y/N) wasn't sure if she had ever heard him talk like that. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset" he said genuinely.
(Y/N) slowly turned around but still didn't face him. She didn't mean to snap at him. She had known Oliver ever since she got sorted into Gryffindor, and developed a (not so) little crush on him about a year later. Not that he would ever notice. He was a very popular guy, being Captain of the Quidditch team and all. (Y/N) knew that and he was even a bit arrogant about it. And she was just a regular muggle-born student a year below him who didn't really do much to stand out. This was probably the longest conversation they had ever had. If you'd count when he'd apologized to her for bumping unto her on the hallways; which she did.
"No, I'm sorry" she said in a small voice. She wiped a tear away with the sleeve of her sweater and she looked up at him. She could see genuine concern in his eyes and felt a little bad for yelling at him. "I um- I didn't mean to snap at you" she said. "Is not your fault; I'm just... having a bad day" she finished realizing he hadn't let go of her wrist.
"What happened?"
"Don't worry about it" she said pulling her wrist out of his grasp and adjusting the strap of her bag. "Everything's fine" she said before trying to make her way upstairs again but Oliver quickly stepped in front of her and saw more tears falling down her cheeks.
"(Y/N), everything's not fine" he said as she looked away from him and kept on wiping the tears. "You're crying and you're covered in mud" he pointed out. "What's wrong?"
"Why do you care?" she muttered sadly.
"Well, um-" he said nervous all of the sudden. "Uh, I- you're upset a-and I don't like seeing you upset" he told her.
"Really?" she said biting her bottom lip to hide her smile.
"Yes, really" he admitted. (Y/N) sighted sadly. She might as well tell him since it looked like he wasn't going to let her leave.
"Well um-" she started as she walked back to her original place and Oliver joined her on the sofa. "I was making my way towards Herbology, you know, not wanting to skip class or anything" she said making him let out a small chuckle. "And well um- a bunch of girls from Slytherin just..." she stopped and Oliver saw a few more tears escaping her eyes. He held her hand gently to encourage her to go on. (Y/N) felt her heart flutter a bit but she had to focus right now. "Well, they just started calling me a mudblood" she said sadly looking down. Oliver felt his blood boiling a little bit. He hated that word and he hated that (Y/N) looked so sad. "I usually don't let it bother me this much" she explained. "I'm pretty much used to it by now" she continued. "B-but then they grabbed my bag a-and they took out a-all of my muggle books a-and-" she grabbed her bag and pulled out the papers that Oliver had seen spread around the floor before. "They tore them apart" she said getting out the last pieces. Oliver guessed there were about six destroyed books. "And then they said that s-since I was a mudblood that I should look like one" she said wiping away a few more tears. "So they tossed me in this puddle of mud and I scraped my knee" she said pointing at her knee where Oliver could see a small cut. (Y/N) shook her head and composed herself a bit. "And... that's a day in the life of (Y/N), thank you for asking" she said smiling sarcastically at him. "Now, if you excuse me, I should go get cleaned up" she said standing up and being, once again, stopped by Oliver.
"(Y/N), you shouldn't listen to those girls" he said making her face him. "You are a brilliant, beautiful witch and those girls are just jealous of you" he told her. "If people are trying to bring you down it only means that you are above them" he said making (Y/N) smile for the first time that day. She felt her cheeks burning up a little when Oliver wiped away another tear with his thumb. "See? You have a beautiful smile" he said putting her hair behind her ear. "Don't let anybody wipe it away" he said smiling sweetly and (Y/N) let out a small laugh.
"Um" she said looking down and then back at him. "Thank you, Oliver" she told him.
"I really mean it" he told her. "Oh" he said grabbing his wand. "And here" he said muttering a spell and making the cut on her knee disappear. "There, all better" he said proudly.
"How did you do that?" she asked a little impressed.
"Well, when you get injured in Quidditch as much as we do, it comes in handy to know those kinds of spells" he said putting his wand away. (Y/N) smiled brightly at him again before she leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you" she said sweetly. "I'm gonna go get cleaned up" she said again and this time, he let her go upstairs to her dorm. After a few showers, (Y/N) finally got rid of the mud. She was brushing her hair when she realized she had left her bag in the Common Room. After she got dressed, she made her way out of her dorm and down the stairs. She was surprised to see Oliver still down there. Her heart warmed at the image in front of her. He was trying to put her books back together with his wand. By the look on his face, he wasn't exactly succeeding.
"Um, what are you doing?" she asked trying to prevent her smile from getting bigger.
"Uh- w-well, I um, I wanted to put your books back together b-but then I realized I've uh- I've never read this books because well, they're muggle books s-so I think I might have stuck them wrong" he said awkwardly.
(Y/N) let out a small giggle and walked over to sit next to him. "Y-you did that for me?" she asked nervously.
"Of course" Oliver said in an obvious tone. "I know that they mean a lot to you. I mean, you always have a book with you so..." he said looking away.
"Y-you notice that?" she asked feeling her heart flutter. Oliver Wood noticed her?
"Well, I notice lots of things" he said trying to act casual. "Like, you're always carrying a book, you even come to the Quidditch matches with one. Not even Hermione Granger does that" he said laughing a little. "You always bite your lip when you're nervous" he continued. "Like now" he pointed out, making you blush again. "You always have candies in your pockets, even though you won't admit it, you think Fred and George are very funny" he continued. "I've seen you trying not to laugh at their jokes sometimes" he said when he saw the confused look on her face. "You're always singing or humming a song, whenever you're happy that is" he pointed out. "You don't like to get up early" he said with a small laugh remembering how she'd barely make it to breakfast on weekends. "You have a very pretty smile and beautiful eyes" he said looking intently at them.
(Y/N) swallowed hard as he placed a strand of loose hair behind her ear as he had done not so long ago. "Well, aren't you very observant?" she managed to say without stuttering and Oliver let out a small chuckle.
"Just a bit" he said before he leaned down and pressed his lips against hers. (Y/N) was really shocked at first but quickly gave into the kiss. Oliver placed his hand on (Y/N)'s cheek bringing her closer to him as she wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling against his lips. After a while, both of them pulled apart needing some air. (Y/N) bit her bottom lip again and Oliver kissed her head. "So, did I manage to get any of the books correct?" he said pointing at the mess on the table.
"Well, let's see" (Y/N) said with a smirk before he grabbed a pile of papers being a mix between 'The Shining', 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'The Wizard of Oz'. "Well, not quite" she said. "But, don't worry, we can fix it" she added quickly when his smile fell. "It was still nice of you to try" she said smiling sweetly as she started putting the books back together.
"Sorry you had a bad day" Oliver said while helping her.
"Don't worry" (Y/N) said smiling. "It brightened up!"Please comment who you want an imagine of next, or if you have an idea of a prefrence. You can wish for a person that isn't of one of the characters I've listed<3
