Grenades

Inspired by The Fault In Our Stars

You have two grenades.

You light one up,

and you're expecting it to go off.

But then it doesn't,

it just sits there on the floor.

Waiting to be vanished into an explosion.

So you light up another one,

And you'd expect, nothing more,

than the first grenade to go off first

But then the second one goes off,

And your confused.

Thinking...

"Is the first one broken?"

Time passes...

Tick tock

tick tock

And the first finally explodes,

and ones it does,

you have realized

that the first one wasn't broken.

It was just waiting.

It was waiting to be vanished.

Waiting to explode,

and once you light it up

you get away.

Because you know that if you get too close.

You will get hurt.

But humans tend to ignore the saying,

"Expect the unexpected"

What does it mean?

It means that don't expect the first to blow when the second could just as easily blow up first.

But the funniest thing,

we tend to think others are blind.

But everyone in the world is,

we're blind,

we don't see what's in front of us,

we can't see what we're given in this world.

I can imagine that you haven't noticed that you have a device to see this poem in,

when others don't have food or water.

So the point is,

We shouldn't expect stuff.

Who knows,

maybe the unexpected might happen.

But that's the beauty of life,

you expect stuff that might not happen.

But don't expect the beautiful things that happen to you.
