Taehyung stood there, one hand on his backpack's strap and the other one placed warmly inside his hoodies's front pocket, as he stare into the boy sleeping peacefully on a single bed right beside his own. They're roommates, Jeongguk and him, at the same time, they're ex's.
Taehyung and Jeongguk met way back in high school, they happen to be in the same year level and section. Both of them are openly gay, and then it happened. They just clicked, and then suddenly they're all over each other, just like how hormonal teenagers would usually do with their puppy loves.
The romance didn't last up until Taehyung has to move over a town 3 hour ride far from Jeongguk's. They decided to do long distance, but eventually, everything came crashing. The distance, time, and their own lives doesn't seem to fit with each other anymore. They just came to the point where they had an understanding, no words said, that everything is over. The communication and the efforts to see each other were gone, their relationship ended, but their love remained.
Luckily enough, they both went to same college together. Fate must have been on their side because going to same college is quite fascinating for Taehyung, but being roommates is a whole lot nerve wracking reality.
Their relationship were civil, friends but no romantic feelings involved. Taehyung must admit to the heart breaking disappointment when Jeongguk's eyes were never the same eyes that looked with Taehyung's with pure love and adoration. They were just... eyes, for normal people, for anybody, and Taehyung was once somebody to Jeongguk. They were roommates for over a year now, and that's the real score between them, roommates or maybe close to being friends but way too far from lovers.
He pulled out his hand from his hoodie at took a glance at his wrist watch and readied himself to go as the clock says 6:30 am, which is quite enough for him to go to their org's meeting place, where they'll be waiting for their service on their way to Busan where their art seminar will be done. He glanced back to Jeongguk whose cheeks are pressed up on his pillow, as he was laying on his tummy.
Taehyung went to kneel beside Jeongguk's bed, as he cupped the younger's cheek and pressed a soft light kiss on his forehead, lips lingering a little longer as he indulge himself with the familiar smell and the warmth bleeding from Jeongguk.
"Damn, I miss this." Taehyung whispered the moment he parted his lips away from the younger's forehead. He rubbed his thumb a few strokes on Jeongguk's cheeks, smiling at the soft and warm feeling against his skin.
He stood up and headed to the door, glancing back to Jeongguk one last time because he wont see him for three long days. And finally forcing himself to walk out the door and try to comply with what's coming for him on this trip.
Jeongguk opened his eyes the moment he heard the door closed, eyes staring at the close door for one agonizing minute. Damn, he miss his Tae so much. He miss him too much he can feel his heart breaking as he was being kissed in the forehead every time Taehyung's leaving. He would usually wake himself up a little earlier from Taehyung but he'll let Taehyung thinks he's asleep as he could only let himself be intimate with Taehyung when he's pretending to be asleep, he's content with the affection he's getting and he wouldn't dare free himself to touch Taehyung as what his heart tells because damn he doesn't deserve him. He's the reason their relationship ended. He could've given a lot more effort for their relationship to work, he could've managed his time accurately just so he be with Taehyung, he could've set Taehyung and his studies his top priority but he neglect Taehyung, because he was used to Taehyung sticking around him, despite being busy. He took Taehyung's effort for granted, he's so used to receiving texts first from Taehyung, he's so used to Taehyung adjusting his time for him, because he is a priority, which Taehyung wasn't to him. He didn't think of Taehyung's life where he's not involved. He's just as busy as he was, but he managed to slip Jeongguk to his busy life and there came the time when the texts and calls ceased, but he shrugged it off, they're both busy anyway, and everything about the two of them eventually ended.
