I opened the door and hesitantly took a few steps inside. I tried to keep a confident face, but gave up and let my nerves flood the rest of my body. My posture dropped and my body was hunched. Other than the sound of the door closing, the class became silent. The teacher looked up at me and smiled.

"Hi there! I'm Mr. Hoover. Some students call me Mr. H for short. You must me Margaret. Is Margaret okay?"

"I go by Maggie, but whatever you want to call me." I spoke up as loud as possible, but my voice still came out mousy.

"Alright well class, this is Maggie." No one looked up from their textbooks, most students had headphones in. "If you need anything please let me or one of your classmates know. You can sit at the open desk in the back, between Nate and Jack." Mr. H flashed me another smile and sat back down while I made my way to my seat.

I sat in between a scrawny boy with big eyes and blonde hair, and a boy with broad shoulders and shaggy dark brown hair. They were both extremely attractive, and I continue wondering how I am gonna get any work done in this class. I put my backpack down and sat in my seat.

There was a textbook waiting for me on the desk. I wasn't sure what page to turn it to, so I tried looking over to the blonde boys book to see what page he was on. He was too far away for me to see, and I ended up kicking the desk and making a loud noise.  The entire class turned to look at me and I felt my face heat up. The boy turned to me and smiled.

"We're on page 248." He whispered. I smiled and nodded my head, not able to get any words out. "I'm Jack." He spoke again. "My friends either call me Johnson or J."

"I'm Maggie." I smiled again.

"Where you from Maggie?"

"Missouri." I kept my answers short, not knowing why he was still interested in talking to me.

"Ooh, glamorous Missouri." I laughed at the thought of Missouri being considered glamorous. "Why did you move?" My body tensed. I searched my brain for an answer that wouldn't be a lie, but wouldn't be too brutally honest. I supposed "my dad died and my mom was a crazy mess and needed to get away from our old house." Would be too much considering I've known the boy for thirty seconds, so I decided to play it safe.

"Just wanted something new." I flashed him a fake smile.

"Yeah, that's cool. Well since you just moved here, you probably don't have many people to hang out with and if you want to you could sit with me and my friends at lunch today, just to see if you like it."

"Yeah that'd be cool. Who do you sit with?" I asked, as if I would know who anyone is.

"Just me, Sam, other Jack and Nate over there." He pointed at He dark haired boy sitting on the other side of me.

The boy turned around at the mention of his name with a confused look on his face. "Huh?"

"Nate this is Maggie. She's gonna sit with us at lunch today."

"Oh okay." He smiled at me and wow, he was really hot. "Hi Maggie. I'm Nate."

"Hi." I smiled and looked down, not knowing what else to say.

The rest of the class went by pretty quickly as me Jack and Nate talked about nonsense things. Once the bell rang, I let the boys go on without me as I waited for my "student ambassador" to come and meet me at the door. A tall blonde girl with He most perfect facial features I think I've ever seen walked up to me.
