I'm a horrible friend, Nelly is in a bad situation and I should be thinking of ways to help her, but instead I'm sitting her in English looking out the window, watching Joshua playing soccer . I just can't get his tensed tan legs out of my mind and his hair It still looks so sexy even when it's sweaty. "EMMA DALLAS!!"screamed Mrs Galton, she had obviously asked me a question and I must of been in mid daydream about Josh. " I'm sorry mrs I didn't hear that can you repeat the question please?"I ask hoping she won't shout at me
"Miss Dallas I didn't ask you a question I told you to pay attention and because you didn't even listen when I told you to listen you have detention after school" she shouted. Mrs Galton hates, I mean she has never liked me ever since I came to Ohio North High.
Lunchtime, me and Nelly are sitting on the field. Nelly nibbles her potato chips nervously " have you told Callum yet?" I ask eating the rest of my sandwich
"No not yet"she says timidly
"you're going to have to tell him soon Nel" I reply
"I'm not even sure if I want to keep it so I don't want to worry him"she says in a mutter
"you still need to tell him, this baby is both of yours and he half made this problem"I say
"NO IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUE I'M GETTING RID OF THIS THING" screams Nelly, tears flooding down her cheeks, I hug her
"Nelly, I just want you to think carefully about this I don't want you to do anything you'll regret" I say
"Will you come with me after school to the doctors to see the options I have with teenage pregnancy? and I promise after I find out everything I need to know I'll tell Callum" she asks , wiping her tears. I know I have detention but I'll just skip it because my best friend needs me
"Of course, I'll come meet you at the front gates at four"I reply.
The bell rings, everyone rushes out of the class. Just as I'm about to walk out of the door, I see Callum walk in putting up a poster. He walks over to me " Hello Emma"he says politely
"Hey Callum" I reply awkwardly, I feel really bad knowing that Nelly is pregnant with his baby and he doesn't have a clue also to make things worst he's being really nice to me. "Nelly has been acting weird today, do you know what's wrong with her?"he asks
"No I don't know , maybe she's just on her period"I lie, feeling guilty
"But she doesn't act like this, I think she is going to break up with"I says worriedly, I just want to fling my arms over him and tell him that Nelly is pregnant with your baby and she needs you. But instead I say "don't you say that she loves you and I bet it's nothing" I reply
"Please Emma, I love Nelly with all my heart she is my everything, I know there's something wrong with her but my heart aches knowing something has happened and I can't do anything and Emma I know you know she tells you everything please" he cries, tears rushing down his face, he loves Nelly so much and I know he would support her through this "Callum" I declare
" yeah Emma"he replies desperately
"I'm sorry"I mutter and run out of the door.
As I nearly reach the exit of the school , Mrs Galton spots me "Miss Dalles going somewhere are you?"She inquires
" Mrs I should have to go to detection and I'm really sorry about English but I need to be somewhere really important"I reply,desperately
"You should of thought about your 'important' thing before you broke one of my school rules" she says " and don't bother to protest or I'll give you another hour" she continues.
As I walk to the classroom with mrs, I feel really bad because Nelly needs me and she is going to think I don't care about her and I can't even ring her because Mrs is watching me like a hawk. We walk into the classroom "SIT DOWN AND STAY SILENT" mrs Galton bellows, the classroom is virtually dead there is two girls sitting in the back chewing gum "mrs can I go home now"moaned one of girls "no you cannot Monica you should of thought about that before you started using bad language in my classroom"shouted mrs Galton
"She is such a moody bitch" whispered the Monica girl, the girl next to her giggled "I know right"the girl agreed. I'm still standing up at the front of the classroom "you may sit down down now miss Dalles"mrs said angrily pointing to a empty desk.
I sit down feeling guilty, Nelly really needs me I can't believe I can't be there for her. I'm scared she is going to do something really stupid she sounded really determined about getting rid of the baby.
What felt like years later(only five minutes), "mrs I'm missing soccer practise"said a boy it wasn't any boy it was Joshua, "Mr Freemason you should of thought of that instead of not doing your homework"Mrs Galton snapped "but mrs.." "No buts now sit down near miss Dalles"Mrs Galton interrupted Josh.
Josh sat down next to me I began to tense up. I couldn't believe he was next to me and to make matters worst... "Hey I'm josh"he said, in a soft whisper I began to blush "ermmm i'mmmmm Eemmaa"I whispered, nervously he gave a warm smile as soon as he did I was instantly turned on. "Well it's it's a pleasure to meet you Eemmaa"he whispered playfully, I could see his sparkling emerald green eyes looking deep into my brown ones, I was just about to say something until he said "you have beautiful smile" I didn't even know that I was smiling but his compliment gave me goosebumps "You're something special Emma Dalles" he said shyly, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, It's just too good to be true how can the boy of my dreams be sitting here with me making me feel likeI'm on cloud nine.
