Gemma's car came to a halt, and so did mine.

She still hasn't noticed that I'm following her, I guess she's pretty unobservant.

I looked around, trying to figure out exactly where I had followed her to.

The only sign I could find was for a psychiatry unit of a hospital, where Gemma seemed to be entering.

What the hell?

I quickly fumbled with the handle of my car, trying to keep up with her. I saw her racing down a hallway, I increased my speed.

I looked at my watch and it said 6:02 pm, she's probably late for whatever she's doing here by two minutes.

She came up to a door, and stopped to catch her breath before entering.

From my spot behind a plant, I read the name posted on the door.

Dr. Smith, MD.

Psychiatry

Weird.

Aren't psychiatrists for like depressed people?

And Gemma's not depressed.

What the hell?

--

I decided to wait until Gemma came back out, so I could ask her about it.

I heard a door open and looked in the direction of the psychiatrists office, and made eye contact with Gemma.

Her eyes widened in horror as she screeched,

"What the hell are you doing here?!"

"The real question is, what are you doing here?" I shot back.

"I... I'm..." She stammered looking for a response.

"Gemma," I started while approaching her. "Whatever you are doing, does Harry know?"

She shook her head profusely.

Damn.

"Gem, what's wrong?" I asked with concern. I mean, I asked nonchalantly and everything.

"Geeze, Ash that would be a terribly long story..." She said distantly.

"Wanna tell me tonight? Like before we go to sleep?" I brought Gemma to her car, looking for a confirmation.

She gave me a slight nod and then slipped into her car.

I gave her a wave before doing the same.

--

My blood is boiling, and I swear I'm seeing red.

Gemma just told me about why she's seeing that doctor... Her mom used to abuse her. All of her moms 'clients' helped as well.

"Woah there sailor, calm it down." Gemma teased. "It happened years ago, there's nothing you can do now."

"Your obviously not over it If your seeing a damn psychiatrist!" I snapped. Why doesn't she take anything I do seriously? "Am I some kind of joke to you Gemma?"

She looked taken aback.

Damn right.

"What do you mean Ash?" She shifted on the bed.

"I mean that you treat me like I'm below you all the fucking time! I'm sick of it!" I screamed. I'm not some worthless piece of shit!

"Ashton. Your my baby brothers best friend! What am I supposed to treat you like?" She calmly replied.

"A human being would be a start!" I said with a sigh.

I still haven't brought up Gemma to Harry, and it's been a couple days since I followed her.

"I'm gonna go find Harry." I stated, before leaving.

I turned around and peeked in my room, as Gemma climbed in my bed curling in a ball. She rocked back and forth gently, eyes screwed shut. Her breath quickened, and tears streamed down her cheeks.

I raced to her, taking her body in my arms and rubbing her back gently. She seemed so small under my touch, I had the power right now.

She tried to push me off, but I just tightened my grip. She snuggled her head into my shoulder and let out short sobs.

As we sat there, in each others arms everything around me felt at peace.

Badass Gemma was gone, and replaced with a vulnerable one.

After a while, she lifted her head. Her eyes peered into mine, and her breath caught. Her gaze shifted to my lips, just as I heard a loud bang from the kitchen. I quickly kissed Gemma on the forehead, before racing out of the room.
