(The entire story will be in Ashton's POV -k xx)
The next morning I walked into homeroom just as the bell rang. Accepting the glare I received from my teacher, I made my way to the back of the class.
Gemma nodded her head at me, which I bluntly ignored. She scowled before giving me the finger.
"What's up with you asshole?" She whispered, a glare forming in her features.
I shrugged quickly, before pulling out my favorite novel. Gemma snorted then said,
"You're reading The Giver? What are you, in 6th grade?"
I scoffed and replied,
"It's a great book Gem. You would know that if you had a brain."
Jesus, I'm such a child. What kind of comeback is that?
Gemma rolled her eyes before pulling out her phone. I did the same, and saw a text from Harry telling me to meet him in the bathroom.
I excused myself from class before making my way through the old hallways of my school. I turned a corner to see my friend Calum making out with some girl. Calum is a senior, and this girl looked like she was a freshman. You can tell this is her first time doing this, by how bad of a job she seems to be doing.
I slammed my hand against a locker, then broke them apart. I peered down at the short girl, and asked her,
"How old are you?"
"Um... 14." She nervously replied. Holy shit, 14? That's pretty damn young.
"Calum! You're 18! What the hell man!" I shouted. He rolled his eyes before grabbing the girl by her elbow and taking her down the hallway.
I moved on with my journey and entered the boys bathroom. I saw Harry on his knees, pulling at his hair with his hands.
"Harry! What's up?" I asked with concern. His head jerked up, green eyes bloodshot. Was he crying earlier?
"I think I like someone." He croaked, voice heavy. Alright so Harry likes someone, and is sobbing like a baby? Where's the logic behind this?
"What's the issue with it?" I pressed, dumbfounded.
"I'm pretty sure she hates me!" He wailed. God damn, he's falling apart! I'm not surprised the chick hates him though, he's an asshole to everyone but me.
"Why would you say that? Who is this girl that's messing you up?" I whispered, as I heard a group of loud girls rush past the bathroom. I quickly kicked the doorstop and Locked the wooden door.
"Her name is Sadie...She's so different man. Like I asked her for her number, and she said No! I mean I'm not cocky or anything but no one ever says that!" He explained. At least he has calmed down, I don't deal well with crying.
"Sadie? Who is that?" I pondered. Our school is small, so everyone pretty much knows everyone. She must be new.
"She's new, and in our grade. She's beautiful too! Like she's not a little bitch who cares about what other people think! And damn her body man, she's so curvy and her ass.." He trailed off, for sure not crying anymore.
"Damn Harry, get a grip! I'm sure you will find some other girl tomorrow!" I tried to convince him, as he quickly shook his head.
"No I won't! I'll see you later man, thanks for making me feel better!" Harry said with a laugh before he went out into the hallway. I followed him, placing the doorstop back.
I was going to go walk with him to our next class, Art, but I stopped when he was to a girl. I guess that's Sadie. His height towered over her, and she was glaring at him. He said something and her features softened. She has bright sea foam green eyes, freckles on the bridge of her nose, and short dirty blonde hair. Not Harry's usual type.
I walked over to them, placing a hand on Harry's shoulder.
"Hey man. Who's this?" I said with a smirk. Sadie looked up from the ground and gave me a smile. She has really white straight teeth, is my first thought.
"Hi! I'm Sadie!" She said sweetly, holding out her hand. I took it into mine, giving it a shake. I looked over at Harry who was glaring at me.
"When I was introducing myself, you slapped my hand away!" Harry complained with a pout.
"Aw, Poor Harry. Trying to grab a girls ass when you first meet her is oh so sweet! " Sadie sarcastically replied, pinching his cheeks. She then sauntered off, joining her friends. Harry looked like a lovesick puppy! I glanced past him and saw Gemma coming.
"Thanks for ditching me!" She yelled, punching me in the arm.
"Homeroom is literally 10 minutes Gemma." I reminded her, and began to walk off.
"Yeah, ten minutes that you weren't there!" She said with a hint of annoyance in her gentle voice. You see, Gemma's voice made her sound like a sweet angel, when in reality she's the opposite.
I observed her as she continued to walk beside me in the hallway. Her hair was white, that's a change! I picked up a piece of it, and twirled it in confusion.
"Can I help you?" She snapped, ripping the piece from my hands. It's not like I'm going to rip out her weave, she needs to calm down.
"Your weave will be okay Gemma." I monotonously told her.
"Weave my ass! I grew this myself!" She smugly replied. Her eyes brightened when she saw her stupid boyfriend, Luke.
I watched her walk off joining him, then finding myself missing her presence. Weird.
