The Circus is in Town (Gareki x OC)

Too Late

The boy in front of us started drinking the blood that was on his hands, not caring that we were standing there watching him.

"I'm just so, so hungry" he whispered, dropping his hands and looking up at us.

A large ball of blue energy formed in front of him. It grew and it was thrown towards us. I grabbed Nai and Yogi grabbed Gareki, flying out of the way of the orb. Yotaka kept creating the blue orbs, mentally throwing them towards us. Yogi and I did our best to keep everyone out of harms way.

I followed Yogi away from where Yotaka stood in a cloud of smoke. We put the boys down and I ripped off a piece of my dress and grabbed a nearby rock, turning the two into a sword. The hilt had ribbon that wound its way up my arm, just a precaution so I don't easily lose my weapon.

"Just go, take Nai and run" Yogi told Gareki.

"Yeah right, what about you then?" Gareki asked, trying to walk past Yogi.

Yogi held out an arm, stopping Gareki. "He's beyond listening to reason. I'm sorry. If you don't want to die, clear out now"

Gareki was quiet. Behind us Yotaka came around a building. Yogi took to the sky, his épées appearing in his hands.

"See you back at Karasuna. Don't worry I'm a professional, see you there soon" he said before leading Yotaka off in the opposite direction.

"Bastard! He expect me to turn tail and run from my friends?" Gareki shouted. "Screw that!"

"Gareki, I'm going to see if there's anything I can do. I know they're your family. Right now the best thing for you to do is keep Nai safe"

"Why am I always stuck with the brat?" He grumbles.

"He trusts you, and I don't necessarily trust Circus. They may dissect him the first chance they get. If I don't make it back, if things go wrong, you look after him, continue on with the job I was given. Promise me that" I kiss him on the cheek then ruffle Nai's hair. "Gareki'll look after you"

"Rikka-"

"You keep him safe" I tell Gareki before he can get his words out.

I flew away, looking through the destroyed town for Yotaka and his twin. Tsubame was no where to be seen so I went to help Yogi against Yotaka. They were battling in the sky, giant blue balls of energy exploding around them. While Yogi was dodging what was being thrown at him I flew up behind Yotaka.

"Yotaka, give it up!"

Yotaka turned to me and while he was distracted Yogi captured Yotaka in a circular thorn cage.

"Yotaka I don't want to hurt you. Just think about your friend Gareki" Yogi said.

At the mention of Gareki's name Yotaka seemed to grow to full power. His hair grew and the black wings that were on his back were long, the cage around him exploded.

"Yotaka think about Tsubame, think about your sister" I say.

"It's too late" I heard Yogi say.

Yotaka finally hit Yogi, sending him to the ground. I flew after Yogi to try and help him but I wasn't fast enough. He hit the ground and one of his swords fell from his hand. I knelt down in front of Yogi, shaking him, hoping he'd wake up. Blood soaked through the side of his shirt.

"Yogi please, come on get up"

Two feet met the ground behind me. I stood up and faced Yotaka who was staring at me curiously. A blue orb formed in front of him and he sent it towards me. I crossed my arms in front of me to try and block the blow but since he was at point black there was more strength behind the attack. I flew back, rolling on the ground, unable to move. My mind went blank for a moment.

"Get up dammit. Don't leave me to look after the brat" I heard someone whisper.

When I opened my eyes and looked up I saw 4 new people added to the group, one of them was Hirato. Yotaka was gone and Gareki was kneeling beside me. I struggled to sit up, but a sharp pain in my chest made me gasp and come back into contact with the earth.

"Rikka you're okay!" Nai exclaimed, running over to me.

"Rikka?" The guy wearing glasses asked.

"Didn't we know a Rikka?" The blue haired girl standing beside him whispered.

The 3 strangers looked familiar. I knew them, I used to know them, in my past when I was training. I spent some time on air ship 1. Kiichi, the blue haired girl, was a friend of mine. She was in the same group as me during our training. Jiki, the guy wearing the glasses, was already working on air ship 1 when we got there. Him along with the captain of the ship, Tsukitachi, the red headed man with the top hat.

I flipped myself around so I was laying on my back, seeing as how I couldn't sit up. Someone gasped and walked over to me, it was Jiki.

"You need to get this checked over" he said kneeling beside me.

"It's not that bad" I whisper.

"You can't even sit up, can you?"

I stay quiet, looking away. He picked me up and looked over at Tsukitachi. "I'll bring her to the ship's doctor"
