Yato x Hiyori (My Christmas Well-Spent With You) One-Shot

The kanji on Yukine's collarbone glowed brightly along with his whole body, transforming him into a shining blade. That blade went spinning into the air and into his master's grasp, who jumped down from a high building and onto a sickly-coloured Phantom resembling a mutated lion with eyes all over its body. As soon as the blade's handle reached his master's hand, it was swung at high speed in all directions, successfully tearing the Phantom into smithereens. Once he deemed his surroundings to be safe, the black-haired youth landed onto the ground gently and the blade reverted back into his blessed Shinki who sighed slightly.

"Really, the number of Phantoms have been increasing lately, we might not make it in time for Christmas. Looks like we'll have to skip it this year."

Yato looked at Yukine miserably as soon as he said that, his eyes becoming glassy and round.

"What?! B-But we need to get a present for Hiyori!"

"Yeah you say that, but how many 5 yens is it going to take to buy something?! You spent it all on that stupid pot, remember?!"

"It ain't stupid! That pot isn't just a pot, it's a good luck pot! That was cruel of you to smash it, Yukine! Now we'll have bad luck the whole year!"

"What are you talking about?! We live with the God of Poverty of course there's bad luck everywhere you penniless hobo!"

"Who are you calling a hobo?! I am your master and you are my Shinki so you should respect me!"

"Respect my ass! Go get a job or a shrine before you can talk about respect!"

This bickering lasted all the way back to Kofuku's place, where they somehow became freeloaders using the empty room upstairs. Kofuku and Daikoku were watching tv when the two suddenly burst in.

"Araa~? Yato-chan, Yukine-kun welcome back~"

"Kofuku-san! Please talk some sense into this idiotic jersey-wearing god! He's gone nuts!"

"Shut up, Yukine! All these Phantoms are appearing because of you breaking that pot! It was supposed to ward off evil spirits!"

"How about I ward you off you lousy bastard!"

Before they could attack each other, Daikoku came in between and pulled them apart easily.

"If you want to argue, do it outside the house! Stop bothering my god!'

Reluctantly, they glared at each other before facing away with a great "Hmph!". Kofuku sighed and lightly waved her hand at them.

"C'mon you two, Christmas is coming! You wouldn't want to trouble Hiyorin would you? Speaking of which, she came by just now looking for you two."

Yato stood up immediately, startling Yukine and Kofuku.

"Really?! Why didn't you say it earlier?! There's a chance I might catch her on the way so see you guys later!"

Before anyone could respond, Yato had already dashed off to look for Hiyori. Kofuku turned to Yukine instead, who decided to stay.

"Nee~ Yukine-kun, why aren't you following Yato-chan?"

"Well that's... haven't you noticed it yet?"

Kofuku tilted her sideways in a cute manner, not knowing what Yukine was talking about. Yukine scratched his head, wondering how he should continue.
