Annie Gray felt the characteristical excitement of arriving in a new place. He made her way out of the airport with a wide smile in her face. Once she paid the taxi that took her to the apartment she shared with Giamluca, another art student she met in London, she dropped the bags in the only empty room.

¡She was in Florence! She couldn't believe her eyes as she went to the balcony to absorb the Italian sun and the beautiful views of the Ponte Vecchio. It was just wonderful.

When she was done unpacking she made herself a tuna sandwich. She had to wait for her roommate, his plane was delayed. He had spent one month in Rome with Valentina, his girlfriend, and a good friend of her.

She waited for his arrival patiently something quite unusual in her. Most times she couldn't even stay still more than a minute.

Giamluca arrived at half past nine ready to bring joy to the minimalist apartment. He greeted her with a warm hug and a bright smile.

"Have you been waiting a long time, there where no taxis at the airport I had to take the bus"-he made her follow him to his room.-"I brought you a gift from Rome"-he said as he opened his luggage to give her a big red box.

"What is it?"-she said anxiously.

"Open it"-he said teasingly.

Once she did her mouth opened. A profesional art kit and another art supply set were waiting for her to come up with the thankful reply she was forming in her head.

"I...OMG!"-she said still in shock-"This is incredibly, I can't thank you enough Giamluca"-she left them in his bed as she hug him tightly.-"I love it".

He looked amused while he let go of her. She was quite unusual he thought to himself but incredibly adorable. He bought it near the Fontana di Trevi and it had cost him a fortune but he knew it was worthy while he watched her open it  trying to contain her big smile and failing. She was incredible that he couldn't deny.

It was her first year as an art student in Italy and he wanted her to have something to remember this adventure by. Now she had.

The fist night in Florence they spent it watching MTV Italy while eating homemade lasagna. It was the first of many that were to come in the city and Annie couldn't wait to experience them all.
