Chapter five

Bella woke up alone in her bed and sighed, she knew Paul had an early patrol but waking up alone still sucked. She headed straight for the shower and quickly grabbed a cute outfit that consisted of grey wash jeans, a white tank top, leather jacket and a pair of white converse, for the first time in a while her outfit choice was decent and more true to Bella. She quickly put on a small amount of makeup and she was done.

She jumped down the stairs and made her way into the kitchen. Charlie sat stunned in his chair at the dining table as he watched Bella float around the kitchen, she looked so happy and carefree, he couldn't remember the last time he had seen her like this. "Hey there Bells you're in an awfully good mood this morning, anything I should know about? Maybe a certain boy is making you this happy? ".

Bella smiled over at Charlie, she hadn't even noticed he was there "can't I just be in a good mood for no reason?". Charlie smiled and shook his head and went back to reading his paper. Bella decided now was a good time to mention Paul to him. "Ok well since you asked...I might be dating Paul..." Bella fidgeted with her hands while she looked anywhere but at Charlie. "I was wondering when you were going to tell me" he chuckled and got up from his seat "look Bells you could do a lot worse than Paul Jackson, he's had a rough childhood but he does great work for the res, just remember home by 10 pm on school nights and I don't mind you staying over for weekends, just let me know and be safe".

Bella stared over at Charlie with a huge smile plastered on her face "seriously...I don't have to beg and plead to see him...are you sure your ok.". Charlie laughed and shook his head "look bells your 18 now I'm not going to baby you, as long as I know where you are and that your...you know...safe...I don't wanna be a grandpa yet...but I really don't mind I know Paul and he is very lucky to have you". Bella ran over to Charlie and gave him the biggest hug "thanks for being you and not making a big deal about it and the other thing, well...you don't need to worry about I promise, mum beat you to that conversation 4 years ago" she kissed his cheek and watched as he nodded and headed off to work.

Bella made a quick coffee and then headed on out to La Push. She loved the drive out it was always so peaceful and calm. She made her way to Sams to see Paul waiting out the front on the stairs with Quil. As soon as the truck came to a stop Paul was at her door and she was being dragged out of the car and pulled into one of the best kisses ever.

After a few minutes, Quil cleared his throat and Paul pulled away unhappily and stared at Quil."I'm sorry dude but..but...hungry...and your hogging bells" he muttered out. Bella laughed and headed over to Quil and gave him a big hug "hey Quilly how you doing". Quil rolled his eyes and stared at Paul "dude I love her but pleaseee make her stop calling me that". Paul and Bella laughed as they all headed inside, Paul grabbed Bella's hand and pulled her into his lap on the lounge.

"Morning Bella," Sam and Emily said cheerfully. "Morning guys, are you sure there's nothing I can do to help?". Emily smiled and shook her head "it's all done Bella promise, just waiting on the others they shouldn't be long".

Within a few minutes you could hear the rest of the pack approaching and within seconds they were bursting through the front door. Embry and Seth were the first inside, they came running in fighting over something Bella couldn't hear, but judging by Paul's growling she knew it wasn't good. Embry and Seth finally noticed that Paul was growling at them and they shut up quickly, Seth looked like he wanted to pass out he looked so scared.

Embry and Seth muttered a hello to Bella but they wouldn't dare look at her. Before Bella could ask what was happening she heard Sam say to Quil "run". Quil was up and running out the back door, heading for the forest and suddenly Bella was on the floor as Paul chased after him.

"What the hell is all that about" Bella muttered as Emily helped her up. "Embry, Seth you wanna tell Bella why Quil is getting his ass kicked" Sam chuckled and headed out back after the boys.

Embry pushed Seth towards Bella so Seth could talk, the rest of the pack and their partners entered Sams house looking as confused as Bella felt. Everyone turned to look at Seth, and Leah burst out laughing "I told you both to keep your mouths shut, you are a pair of idiots" and for the first time Leah gave Bella a slight hug and whispered "I'm sorry" and headed out the back door.

"Seth tell me what the hell is going on now" Bella demanded. Seth was blushing and looking anywhere but at Bella."Ummm...ahh..ok so Quil, Embry, Leah and I were swapping over patrols last night and ...ah...well Quil was thinking about some stuff... and well...we saw some stuff..." Seth looked like he could have cried as he ran out the back door.

"Oh dear" Emily whispered and led Bella to the kitchen and made her a cup of tea. Bella didn't know what to think or do she was so embarrassed."Bella, I know how you're feeling, Sam and I went through this the first few times we were intimate, it gets easier, they do try hard but sometimes things slip" Bella thanked Emily she knew things like this were going to happen, it was just going to take some getting used to.

Everyone sat down to breakfast and Bella made sure to stay away from Jacob and his imprint, she didn't want to push it. After 20 minutes the rest of the pack came inside, not one word was said but judging by the cuts and bruises to Quil, Bella knew he had taken a beating. Paul kissed her head and sat next to her.

After breakfast was done Sam made Quil, Embry, and Seth wash up, Bella laughed at how fast they shot up and cleared the table, they must be in some serious trouble. By lunchtime, almost everyone was gone. Paul and Bella were about to head out when she heard Sam call out to the three boys who had hidden out in the kitchen all morning. They slowly appeared with their heads down. "I think you three have something to say to Bella," Sam said as he folded his arms and smiled at Bella.

"Bells we're really sorry promise, it won't happen again and we're sorry we didn't respect your privacy" Embry and Seth muttered out. Bella smiled and gave them both a hug and then they left. Bella turned back to Quil and gave him a soft smile. "Bells I'm reallll sorry, I know what I saw was personal and I'm really sorry I showed the guys, I promise I'm gonna work on it and it won't happen again".

Quil looked sad as he finished speaking, Bella walked over and gave him a big Quilly hug "I know you didn't mean it but it means a lot that your going to work on it, but I also know things are going to slip from time to time just...try think about other things, we need to find you a girl Quilly", Bella chuckled.

Bella and Paul said there goodbyes and headed back to forks "you didn't have to hurt him you know" Bella muttered out. Paul huffed "Bells I get it but I warned him those are our moments, just cause I fucked up and let it slip doesn't mean he can do what he did". Bella held his hand and kissed it " I know and it means a lot that you got my back but just try to go easy on him ok". Paul nodded and pulled her over closer to him "better" he muttered as he kissed her head.

They pulled up at Bella's and she noticed Charlie wasn't back yet " Do you wanna come in dads not home" she smiled cheekily up at Paul and kissed him softly. "Oh babe you have no idea but I've got patrol in 20 Sam want's us all training this arvo". Bella looked sad but realized she started work in an hour " rain check?". Paul nodded and held her tight "do you wanna come over tonight after work, maybe stay?". She smiled up at Paul and kissed him deeply, after a few minutes she pulled away slowly "I can't wait Mr, wanna get me from here when I get home, we can drive to your's together". Paul nodded "Of course I want you in my bed every night, my room and house need's to smell like you always".

Paul headed off for patrol and Bella headed inside and got ready for work, she really didn't feel like working but it was only for a few hours. Bella only had to work 4 hours today, but the shift felt like 6 hours, between Mike hitting on her and being bored out of her mind her shift just dragged on. Finally, her shift was done and she headed home to get changed. Charlie was home and watching a game in the lounge room "hey dad I'm gonna stay at Paul's tonight, it's still ok right?". Charlie nodded and gave her a thumbs up, she smiled and headed upstairs to get ready.

As she walked into her room she screamed and jumped. Charlie yelled up if she was ok and she told him she was fine. She shut her bedroom door and turned around to look at the intruder in her room.

"What...why are you in my room?".
