Max is 24.
He's staying at His friends small Condominium, since his parents kicked him out for a few "reasons". 1; He's too old to live with them. 2; Max can't even get a steady job to help out his parents with the bills, now that summer is over.
He used to work at a summer camp. Camp Campbell, to be exact. The 'bell' in "Campbell" was slightly -- well, mostly faded away on the sign, so most people call it Camp Camp.
Anyways, the people he's living with at the moment are Nikki and Niel. Nikki is 25, while Niel is 28. Nikki has the job of a Vet, since she loves animals. She really wanted to be a zookeeper, but Niel urged her to go a little higher than that. As long as her job has to do with pets, she's happy. Niel has the job of a computer scientist, his dream job.
Nikki is married to Niel, no children yet. Besides, Max is so immature, he might as well be one! (lmao) Also, they wouldn't have time for one, considering they both have jobs.
Nikki has a half sister, who dropped off her son, little 10 year old David there to spend the week at; since it's winter break. Max recognizes the kid Immediately. It's that annoying suck up kid from Camp!
Max is forced to take care of David because 1, Nikki and Niel don't have time for David, like I previously said, they have jobs. 2, He's living in their house, so he has to do what they say. Max even has to share a room with little Davey now; there's no extra rooms. As I said before, It's a small Condo, originally meant for 2-3 people.
Example:
Max's Pov
"C'mon, you know I'm not good with kids!"
Niel raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Then why'd you choose a kids camp for a summer job?"
He's Interrogating me again, he knows I hate when people do that. I gave a fustrated look. "I already told you, it was the only job I could get at the spur of the moment!" I was still cradling little Davey in my arms.
"Max, we'll even pay you if we have too!" Nikki joined in. She was waving her arms over dramatically, worry was on her face.
"But I-" I eyed them all. Nikki and David were giving me the 'puppy eyes', especially David. Fuck, I can't resist puppy eyes!
"Please Max, It'll be fun!" David held onto me tighter.
"Alright alright, I'll do it." I say, finally giving in.
Nikki shares a silent "Yes!" to her self, while David is smiling.
Niel let out a relieved sigh, his facial features softened. "I'm glad to hear. As a thank you for accepting the offer, I'm giving you $500."
"Aw, you don't have to-- wait, what the fuck? 500?!?!"
"First of all, language. Second of all, I didn't stutter. Niel gave me a soft smile while holding out the money.
Maybe taking up this offer wasn't gonna be so bad after all...
I take the money. Still in shock, but smiling back.
