*two weeks later*

I glanced at my phone, trying to decide on whether or not to call him.

We have been trying to unblock my memory of him, but so far nothing has worked. He told me that his name is Matt Johnson and that we have been dating for two and a half years as of March 15.

I can feel a connection to him when I'm around him but I can't place what it is. I really wanted to see him, but I felt as if I'm trying too hard.

I opted to text him.
Me: Hey, do you maybe wanna hang out or sum?

The reply came almost instantly.

Matt: Of course!! I'd love to! I'll pick you up in an hour 😉

Me: okay I'll be waiting😊

I tossed my phone onto my bed and walked over to my closet. I decided to wear my favorite pair of skinny jeans and a black tee. I pulled on his hoodie over my shirt. He had let me use it that day in the hospital and I still haven't given it back.

A sat watching random shows on cable while waiting for him.

After a while, I heard him knocking on the door. I checked my face in the mirror and opened the door.

"Where would you like to go, madam?"

He asked with a goofy grin.

"How about we just hang out somewhere."

His face lit up. I could practically see the lightbulb above his head.

"I know the perfect place!"

We climbed in his truck and set off.

*half an hour later*

We pulled onto a trail and hopped out.

"We have to walk the rest of the way, but it's not that far."

"Umm.. Where are we?"

"You'll see."

He grinned and grabbed my hand to lead me.

After a few minutes we came upon a ledge. She looked off toward the sky and gasped. The view was breathtaking.

"Wow, its beautiful. "

We sat on the ledge. I laid my head on his shoulder and stared out at the horizon. The sky was beautiful shades of purple, blue, and pink.

I looked up at his face for a moment.

"Did we used to come here?"

"Every Saturday." he said without hesitation. "We used to just sit here, staring off at the sky. Sometimes you'd come to think."

I pulled away to look at his face. Sadness was etched in his features.

"Im sorry that I can't remember you."

He stared at my face for a moment. Then he leaned forward till our noses were almost touching.

"Maybe this will help a little."

Then his lips were on mine. He kissed me and I kissed him back. He took that as acceptance and kissed me deeper. He leaned toward me till I was on my back. He pulled away but stayed with his face hovering over mine.

"I know I loved you." I whispered. "I can feel it. I just can't remember."
