Messed up

Ignoring Shan's appearance through the front doors I grabbed all my books for my class then close my locker shut.

Startled at seeing Shan standing right behind my locker door I look away and pretend to cower away from him acting as though I'm scared of his next actions. I noticed Shawn looks a bit nervous, he clears his throat before speaking.

"Um... t-these are for you," Shan stuttered and handed the items of flowers, chocolates, a balloon, a card with money inside, and a small teddy bear that I did not notice before.

I was still standing there in shock, I was so surprised I just stood there and looked at him wide-eyed which made him blush and pink tint. He coughs at the awkward silence and I finally snap out of it and give him a small smile. "W-Why are you giving this to me?" I ask in my shy nerd voice.

"Because... I-I heard you on the phone the other day. When you were in the hallway talking about your daughter," he whispered the last sentence.

"Oh," I can't believe he found out I should have been more careful.
"That kinda still doesn't explain the flowers and stuff," I say crossing my arms over my books.

"The balloon, card and teddy bear is for her the chocolates and flowers are for you," I nod in understanding of why he would for Iris but why did he get me something also.

"But why did you get me things? I'm not sick," I ask.

He sighs, "I know I can't just apologize and give you stuff and expect you to just forgive me, but I want to try. I actually was planning on saying sorry or something to you and everyone else that I bullied throughout high school this year, It may be the beginning of the year still, but I want to leave high school with a clean slate," Shan explained looking completely serious.

"Well thank you and...I forgive you," I say.

He looks at me with wide eyes, surprised by my words. "Really? That quick?" I nodded. "Thanks and I would really like to start over, can we be friends? He scratched the back of his neck a habit I notice him do when nervous.

"Yeah I would like that," I smile.

"Thanks and if you ever need someone to protect you or whatever call this number," he hands me business card for my agency, James Kingsmen Secret Agency.

"Where did you get this?" I question.

"Well... I was trying to get in because I really want to do that for a job when I graduate, I was training and everything I made all the way to...being one of the top 10," Shan lies, but I know he was about the say the 'gang' house and I proud he didn't.

"But...," I urge him to continue knowing the bell will ring soon.

"But.. I messed up I guess I got to cocky and when I questioned one of the officers about his boss, it would seem I was getting a little to ahead of my self, and got myself beat up by the officer," he shrugged. "I may not ever be able to get back in but the least I could do is help you out if you ever need protection."

"Well thank you and is that why you weren't at school for those few days?" He nods."Do you remember the officers name by chance," I bet it was Mark.

"I do but I don't know what your going to do Hope but if your going to try and get me back in don't worry I'm fine I can always work some where else," Shan shakes his head.

"What's his name?" I raise my brow.

He sighs "Mark King."

"I knew it," I mutter.
