A fucking Mermaid is my friend.
Those thoughts swarmed my head as we walked to the lake. It was a Friday night so there was nothing to be worried about. Gaten had decline, it was more Sadie forced him to not come.
I wondered what kind of mermaids Noah and Sadie looked like?
I took off my shirt and dove into the water, splashing Noah and Millie in the process. Millie got so angry I swear rain clouds formed.
Noah slowly wadded into the water, fell and flopped.
He rose as a mermai-merman? Sadie just dove in the water mid splash she changed.
"Come on Millie, waters perfect." Sadie taunted.
I winked. Millie wrinkled her nose and slowly walked into the water.
I was the only human.
"Are you guys excited for some fun?" Noah asked.
Sadie giggled and Millie laughed and looked at me sympathetically. Noah made waves crash into me.
I still wasn't okay with him and Millie.

"Guys I'm hungry can we get some snacks?" Finn whined.
Sadie and Noah exchanged looks while Millie looked down. I feel like somethings happening.. fuck it. "Why are you guys exchanging looks? Is it a mermaid thing?" I asked frustrated.
Sadie swam over to me. Her hand on my head. She had to reach up as I was the tallest here. "Don't think too much about it human scum." She pushed my head down into a swirling hole that had formed under me. You know? Like those flushed toilets.
I blacked out.

I woke up when Millie was lightly slapping me in the face.
"We're here Finn."
I looked around. It was like a teachers lounge, with a mini bar?
"Why am I here?" Sadie snorted and Noah laughed.
"You said you wanted snacks." Sadie said putting her hands up in defence. Noah opened the mini fridge, he took out two cans of ginger ale and handed me one.
"Sadie! Noah! Millie! Your back!" I turned my head and so did the others.
A tall blond girl I was guessing is also a mermaid walked in.
"Oh, .. hey Iris." Sadie said rubbing the back of her head.
"People are looking all over for you." Iris exclaimed
"Look, you never saw us you never will goodbye."
Noah turned on his heel to leave.
Iris was left open mouthed.
Sadie had forgotten they had told iris about this place.
"Okay, stay safe. I'll miss you all." Iris gave a sad smile and turned to leave.
Finn and Millie felt equally bad.
Iris was a good person.
