Chapter 2

The light came into the room, dawn was here which only meant Ivy facing her father. She dressed like yesterday as it was comfortable. Ivy had one last look in the mirror before reaching for the door handle to enter the living room where her father stood arms crossed over his chest.

"Are we back to this again Ivy?" He spoke angrily.

"What father? the fact that I am being myself? or is it you blame me for Joseph?" He formed fists with his hands ready to throw the first punch.

"That is not what I mean Ivy. The fact you are being a child."

"I can't listen to this." Ivy walked to the door and slapped it shut. She walked towards the shop where she worked.

Ivy pushed open the door to a warm welcome from her friends, Ben and Kate who both had dark hair while Ben had blue eyes and Kate had brown eyes.

"Morning" They sang. "Hey guys" Ivy said in a small voice. Kate looked up at Ivy as tears rolled down her face. She got up and brought Ivy into a hug.

"What's happened?"

"My father" She burst out crying. Kate but her arm around her and dragged her into room which was small had few chairs and pictures around.

"Tell me what happened?" "He wants me to marry so he showed me a new suiter, who I actually liked, and I asked him to kiss me... and he did."

"This sounds good Ivy not bad" She looked confused at her.

"Well, my father came in while I was kissing him, and he dragged me away from him and throw me into my room." She let out a sigh.

"Oh, I see now, well I am sure he will come looking for you Ivy don't give up hope" The shop bell went we both raised to attend to the customer. The man in front of them stood in boots, tight fitting pants, a leather jacket with his blonde curls hanging just above. Ivy reached the eyes and she saw the greenest eyes with his cheeky grin.

"I thought I would find you at this weapon shop" He laughed. Ivy smiled at him with affection.

"I don't think we have met yet kind sir" Kate walked over and stuck her hand out he took it and shook it.

"It would seem I am looking for this other lady over here." Ivy started laughing as she couldn't contain her excitement.

"Hello, Lucas what brings you here?" He moved to face her at the counter as she smiled back at him.

"I did some digging around and that's when I found the paper on.... your brother. I wanted to help you Ivy I have networks that can help you get up to the sky people." Ivy looked down at her hands as he spoke she froze hearing the news.

"Please let me help you find your brother and get him back Ivy." "I have waited my whole life for this day." She looked into his eyes for the adventures to start.

"There are some conditions I wish though."

"Of course, Ivy what is it you wish?" "I want Kate and Ben to come along and you must be strictly helping me and none of that romance stuff." He looked at her and smiled his sweet yet devilish grin.

"Yes, I will stick to your conditions. We head out tomorrow and meet behind here." "Ok" He was already walking away to the exit.

"Well, I can see how handsome he is, but I think you just signed us up for a death wish."

"I thought you would want to come along?" Ben reappeared from the small room with three cups of tea.

"I will happily accompany you Ivy." "Thank you, Ben this is the attitude, we need come on Kate." Kate crossed her arm over her chest.

"Fine, you know I would come anyway but I can't believe you said no romance with him."

"I want this mission to be strictly business nothing more."

"Yeah, well your loss."

"Erm, can I stay here tonight I don't want to go back to my father."

"Of course, you are practically family." Ben stated.

"Thank you for all you have done." That night they all fell asleep waiting for the new start to come.
