chapter 19: make you mad

Dom's POV
I came home that night super angry and really drunk. I stumbled up the stairs and somehow made it to my room. I started feeling really faint and dizzy and everything suddenly began to spin. And that's when I blacked out.

I sat up in my bed and a shock of pain shoots through my forehead. I press my hand against it and stumble out of my bed. I bend over and pick up my phone, which somehow ended up being on the floor. I answer a few text messages, and then Ryan calls me.

"Yo man."
"What's good?"
"Nothing much, how you feeling?"
"I feel like fucking hell, what about you?"
"Looks like someone had too much to drink last night. Oh, and I'm great."
"So, why are you calling me?" I ask.
"I have to tell you something important."
"Well?"
"So, um, Lilly and I, kind of, um-"
"Spill it, Higa." I snap.
"Well, we hooked up."
"Ok, why are you telling me this?"
"I just wanted you to find out from me and not someone else."
"How was it?"
"It was amazing, nah, I'm just playing, it was fine."
"Ight."
"Well, I have some shit I have to do, so I'm gonna go. Take it easy, man."

After my fantastic phone call with Ryan, I make myself some breakfast and my daily cup of coffee. I have some anger left still, so I decide to get rid of it. In the probably worst possible way. I hate being this kind of douchebag, but it's the only way I'll survive.

Me: what the fuck?
Lilly😘: ??
Me: I truly hope you had a nice time fucking Ryan.
Lilly😘: what?
Me: oh, don't play that game. I know how much you love them, but this isn't the time.
Lilly😘: he really said that?
Me: ya, why would I be texting you for no reason?
Lilly😘: maybe so your ass could apologize, but nvm
Me: so is it tru?
Lilly😘: think about. Why would he be telling you this if it was true? Wouldn't he want to hide it or something?
Me: u right
Lilly😘: damn right I'm right.

After some time thinking my options over, I decide to call her.

"Hello?"
"Hey."
"Oh, hey, what's up?"
"Listen, Lil-"
"It's Lilly to you." She snaps.
I sigh.
"Ok, Lilly," I correct myself.
"I just want to apologize. Really, I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but I just didn't have the balls to do it. I'm really sorry for all the things I've done, and the things I said. I'm sorry for being so controlling, but there's a reason for that. When the time is right, I'll tell you why."
"Why can't you tell me now?"
"I can't, I'm sorry."
"Ok, I understand. I'm sorry too."
"There's nothing to apologize for, Lilly. You didn't do anything. It's my fault."
"No, I did some things too. And I have a reason why I play so many games. When you share why you're so controlling, I'll share why I play so many games."
"That sounds fair. So are we good?"
"Yes, we're good."
"I miss you."
"I miss you too."
"Hopefully we can hang out soon. Well, I have to go, sugar. I love you. God, I've been waiting so long to say that."
She chuckles.
"I love you too, babe. We'll talk soon."

And with that, we hang up, and I felt so much better about myself. It feels so good to be able to say "I love you". I'm just fucking lucky.
