A very unhappy reunion

I inched backwards, Jay was merely a step behind me. "What? Not happy to see me?" He let out a laugh that would chill even a demon. I heard footsteps behind me, Jay had not moved so it wasn't him. I turned around, happy to not look at Doc. "Summer, what are you doing here?" Izic had bags of blood in his arms. I walked past Jay and Izic "S-summer wait! I-I can explain!" Izic called after me but I didn't listen. My heart was practically pounding out of my chest, Why was he here. I thought he was dead. Why, why would Izic save that poor excuse of a human. As my thoughts whirled I realized I was by the office. The room was empty, I looked down the halls and when I knew no one was near I walked in and sat in front of the monitors. I looked at the ones that showed the inside of the building, then to the doors. Finally I looked at the monitors that showed outside. I froze over one monitor, Jason was scrubbing the wall with a wet broom. He was covering most of the wall, I wanted to know what he was scrubbing. I sat for a minute or two before he finally moved. The wall was covered in blood, most was too washed away to read but it said something about someone coming. I felt my heart speed up again, I could hear my blood rushing through my veins. It couldn't be.

"Summer. We have a problem." Celeste was in the door way. I stood up, ignoring the bloody wall. I nodded, and she turned and began down the hall. With a deep breath I followed her. We walked in silence for about a minute before she turned into a cell, it had long been abandoned. The floor covered in dry blood. Yet the room reeked of death still. Celeste held a flashlight to the back wall which had been in the shadows. The wall had writing, in fresh blood. I took the flashlight from Celeste and read it.  The few who stay will not live another day. My guess is they are giving us a chance to leave. Why would they give their victims a chance to leave is the question though. The bloody words also mean whoever it is, they are inside. Celeste stood next to me in silence as I studied the wall. The blood was still slightly fresh, maybe a few days old but no more than three. I looked at Celeste and nodded. She took the nod as her chance to leave and went off down the hall. I looked at the wall once more and walked the opposite way Celeste had, towards the fourth floor.

The floor creaked as I made my way to the stairs, each creak echoed in my head as if they weren't my foot steps , but someone else, someone who followed me closely. A shiver went up my spine, I don't need to think about stuff like that right now. I made my way up the stairs, they creaked less than that wooden floor but still enough to be heard. Once I made it to the floor I walked straight to the bloody cell. The door was slightly ajar. I stopped before opening it. I heard water sloshing around, and the floor creaking. I peaked in, someone was cleaning up the blood. A quiet mumbling could also be heard from within. I dared to peak in more. Jordan was the one cleaning. I hadn't seen her since we first arrived. I listened carefully and I could barely make out the words she mumbled. Something about the amount of blood, it never being that bad. Her stupid dad. I backed out of the doorway and stepped back towards the stairs. the floorboards creaked and the water sloshing ceased. I spun around quickly and ran down the stairs, I don't know what Jordan is doing but it doesn't seem good, not in the slightest.

I walked to the empty cell I was staying in and dropped onto the hard bed. I don't know what is going on around here but someone is up to something, my guess is Jordan. She might be working for Mitchell.  The door creaked as it opened. Jay and Celeste stood in the doorway. "We are leaving. It's not safe here for any of us. Are you coming?" Jay stood tall with his shoulders back as if he was trying to look strong. He was scared, not just for him but for us too. I weighed my options quickly in my head, there was no way I would stay here any longer. I looked at Jay and Celeste and nodded.

Within minutes we were heading towards the main entrance, we couldn't tell anyone we were leaving, they might try and stop us. We planned to walk the mile to the nearest town and hitch a ride from there. We turned the corner and saw the front doors, they were shut. Through the glass we could see it was raining, the rain was coming down hard and the wind was blowing the bushes and trees wild. We exchanged glances before walking up to it. None of us had anything to say as I unlocked the doors and they swung open. The rain pelted the floor, the wind blew harshly against our faces but that didn't matter, we were leaving regardless.

We rushed out into the storm covering our eyes the best we could. Just as I saw the entrance I stopped. Jay and Celeste saw it too. A figure, right in the middle of the gate. I felt my hair stand on edge, the figure wore a cloak the was waving wildly in the wind. The person began to move towards us. Celeste stumbled back a step. Lightning struck a tree nearby, illuminating the figure. His brown hair messy and sopping wet. The rain pelted my head, I focused on it to keep from running. I've had enough of him, I would try and end it here. I grabbed the knife from Jay's belt, before he could protest  I was walking towards him. It almost sounded like Jay was calling my name but he hadn't moved.

Mitchell ripped his cloak off and tossed it to the ground. He had no fear in his soulless eyes, only a thirst. Whether the thirst was for me or for my death, I couldn't tell. We were almost face to face. "You look just like her. And just like her you ruined everything. I gave both of you a chance and you both ruined it. Running away. At least she didn't kill my right hand man" If I could, I would have laughed. He was never going to marry before me, he had kidnapped another girl. It made me wonder how many times he had done it. "The closest we got to happiness was a daughter.  A little girl. When she ran she took her from me. But I found her none the less, she thought she could hide her away but she didn't run far enough. She tried so hard to keep my little girl from me, so I killed her. And I will do the same to you!" Mitchell pulled a knife from his belt and went straight for my throat.
