here I am again back to my own ways

the unlikely pair woke up to the california sunshine streaming through zane's shitty blinds, their limbs tangled together in an adorable mess. with phoebe's mind playing tricks on her, they had snuggled up together all night.

"good morning, sunshine" phoebe booped zane's nose

"ooh what's got you all happy" zane chuckled at the grinning, groggy-looking girl.

"i just had a really nice sleep and I'm feeling refreshed and ready to start my day" phoebe joked with an added over the top jazz-hands gesture for emphasis, " nah for real your bed is so comfortable" she laughed.

zane was very surprised by how joyful phoebe was being, especially considering how horrible the previous day had been for her. but she was happy and therefore he was happy. if only he could see where the truth ended and where the lies began.

she got out of bed and tied her hair up, prepared to start the day.

"hey I think it's time to meet the rest of your vlog squad that you speak so highly of" she said, smirking.

"sure"  zane smiled "that shall be arranged" he announced, lifting his finger up matter-of-factly. "i'll text everyone asking if we can all gather round someone's place. preferably scott's."

"yay! i can't wait to meet them" she beamed sleepily, "if you like them then they're phoebe approved" she reached out her hand for what was gonna be the world's most astounding, celebratory high five.

instead, he pulled her in for a big hug.

"it's crazy how we've only known each other for a few days," zane said

"i know right. i feel like i've known you for ever" her voice was muffled in the embrace they were sharing.

phoebe pulled away "i'mma take a quick shower, you text the squad" she skipped towards zane's bathroom.
