Preface - Part III

"Pain leads to anger, and anger demands action,

so the Realm gifts two paths to a human within.

One path for Eligos, the demon of spiteful revenge;

his path is painted red with blood, hatred fueled by violence.

I am his counterbalance: the lion of righteous justice,

my path is painted gold, promising ascension and victory.

A fine line exists between both paths: between good and evil,

and you have a unique power to walk one or both.

So let light flame your fury, let love steer your sword,

and a strength born of righteousness,

will overcome the demons that plague this land.

Do not enter an insufferable blackness,

surrounded by hate and regret,

for I will not let your dark thoughts

overshadow my purpose.

With your aid or without,

Eligos will lie a corpse at my feet,

and a semblance of peace will return to the Realm."
