Song: Perfect- Ed Sheeran
"Memories are the key not to the past, but the future" ~ Corrie Ten BoomShawn and I were walking around Central Park today, it was the day before he had to leave. I tried not to think about how much I was going to miss him. I was going to see him in concert in a few months, but that's months later. We've been hanging out everyday, what was I going to do without him?
I had my other best friend Isabella, but she wasn't Shawn. I loved Isabella, but Shawn and I's friendship was different from Isabella and I's. I couldn't describe the feeling, I just knew I didn't want him to go. It had rained the day before, but we still went to the park.
There were small puddles of water, I would so often jump in them as Shawn laughed at me for being so childish. I couldn't help it. I was swinging the umbrella my parents made us bring along, it did look like it could start pouring at any minute. "You think it's gonna start raining?" I asked Shawn as I looked up at the sky "hopefully it doesn't" he answered. It was a ten minute walk from the park to my house, I definitely didn't want to get caught in the rain.
"Hey Shawn, look another puddle!" I shout running over and jumping in it. He laughed a shook is head, he stood far away from me not trying to get wet. "You're no fun" I tell him "I'm not trying to get wet" he answered "you need some rain boots, we'll get you some next time" I say "okay, next time" he said.
Shawn took the umbrella from because he was scared that I was going to end up hitting someone with it. I don't think it was going to rain anyways. "It's not even going to rain" I say to him as soon as I said that I felt a drop of water hit my head. "You got to be kidding me" I said I looked up we were standing under a tree, maybe a water droplet from a leaf fall and hit my head.
"You jinxed it, it's your fault if it starts raining Camila" Shawn tells me "it's your fault if it rains Camila" I copy Shawn "haha you're so funny" he tells me "haha you're so funny" I copy Shawn again I just laugh as he rolls his eyes at me. "I hate you so much" he answered "I hate you so much" I say looking at him and giving him a big smile. "Wow, Shawn is the best looking guy I've ever seen" "wow, Shawn is the best- hey, wait I'm not saying that" I answered "damn it" he says laughing.
"Haha, you suck" I tell him as he failed to trick me "haha, you suck" he copied me "okay, we are not doing this" I say I give him a look before he can say anything. We kept walking and talk about the most random things, we talk about how I'm doing in school to how excited he was about going on tour.
"Crap, I think it's really raining" Shawn says "ugh" I let out a groan as the raining starts to pour down on us. I quickly pull my hoodie on and get underneath the umbrella with Shawn. "Let's get out of here before we get soaked" I tell him. "Hold on I need a picture" I say stopping Shawn "really, Camila?" He asked "just hold on" I tell him. I quickly pull out my phone and snap a quick photo.
We try to run back to my house, but it started to pour harder. As we walked slowly trying to keep dry, every step we took the water would just splash back at us. Causing our pants and shoes to become completely soaked, "forget the umbrella" I say "what?" He asked "let's just make a run for it!" I shout the sound of the raining hitting the ground was loud I could barely hear Shawn. He pulled on his hoodie before closing the umbrella.
I quickly grabbed his hand as we ran down the streets of New York. It was probably a stupid idea we were completely soaked before we even got to my house. We didn't really care, it was kind of fun to run around in the rain. People on the side of the streets would just give us crazy stares, we honestly didn't care.
We finally made it back to my house, we stood on the porch for a bit trying to catch our breaths. "I think I need to go back to the gym" I complain as I lean against the railing. Shawn laughed at me as I struggled to catch my breath. We both stood in front of each other and started laughing at how we looked. "Shawn your hair is sticking to your forehead" I pointed out laughing. "You look like a wet dog" he tells me "you're stupid" I tell him "well, a cute one at least" he added with a laugh.
I just shake my head, we both stoped laughing and just looked at each other for a bit. Even completely soaked Shawn Mendes was still the most attractive guy I'd have ever seen. He honestly looked better water, wait what was wrong with me? I knew I liked him, but I couldn't he was going to leave soon and that would be painful watching him go.
We hadn't noticed that we had closed the space in between us, Shawn slowly leaned down. I didn't know where this was going, but I liked it. Before I could more the front door opens my mom looks at us both. It looked like her eyes were about to pop out of her head. "You guys are completely soaked! Get inside now!" She shouted. We looked at each other and walked in.
"Karla Camila! Go change out of those wet cloths before you get sick!" "I thought I told you two to bring an umbrella" my mom says "we did" I answered "yeah" Shawn added holding up the umbrella. "Do you two know how to use it?" She asked we both looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders at her. "Ugh, what am I going to do with you two" she asked shaking her head.
"Camila to change, Shawn follow me" she says. I go to my room and take a quick warm shower and then out on a pair of legging and a sweater on. Shawn soon comes to my room wearing a plain teeshirt and sweatpants, "did my mom yell at you?" I asked laughing "no, but she did tell me how we shouldn't have done that. Then called my parents to come get me" he answered "oh that sucks, I wanted to spend more time with you" I say frowning.
"It's okay, I'll see you before I leave tomorrow right?" He asked me "right" I answered smiling.
