____It had been when she was just seven years old when she had first met the Prince. It was at school, while the other children had fun outside during recess, she had sat herself down in an area where no other children usually went.
She had sat down against a Cherry Blossom tree, her back pressed against its firm dark bark as she sat there with her legs pulled up to her chest and her arms wrapped around them tightly. She was crying, her dark brown hair covering her face as small sobs fell from her lips, her shoulders trembling and breath shaky as she tried to stay as quiet as she could so she didn't attract any unwanted attention to herself.
She failed to notice a boy just a few months younger than herself had been at the very same tree, sitting on the other side but for a completely different reason. It wasn't until she heard crunching of dry leaves that she noticed she wasn't completely alone like she had first thought.
Grayblue had met dark blue, clashing as both pair of colored orbs stared at one another.
The raven haired boy frowned at her, his expression unreadable as he stared down at her from his standing position besides the brunette.
"Why are you crying?" He asked, his voice soft yet flat, as if he was bored and that he really didn't want to know, but asked anyway.
The brunette haired girl stayed quiet, even her sobs had stopped but tears still ran silently down her cheeks as she stared up at the raven haired boy. She immediately recognised him, how couldn't she? He was the crowned Prince of Lucis, he was in her class.
The frown on the boy's face seemed to deepen as he shifted slightly, his eyes moving away from her own as he turned his attention down to the ground. His body seemed tense and he looked well out of his comfort zone, the Prince didn't usually talk to anyone.
"Dad says that people cry when they're sad." He stated, he then shifted his weight onto his right foot, his arms now crossed over his chest. He glanced back at her. "Are you sad?"
The young girl continued to stare at him before she sniffed softly and reached up, rubbing her face with her sleeved covered arms.
"Mama and Papa were fighting." She replied softly. "Mama told Papa to leave if he didn't want to be home anymore...I-I don't want Papa to leave." Her words trailed off into a whimper as her lower lip started to tremble, more tears starting to fall down her cheeks.
It was remained silent between the two of them. The only sounds were the sobs from her and the distant screams of the other children. Due to the Prince not saying anything, the young brunette guessed that he left her alone, that he didn't want to talk to her anymore, and that thought made her cry even harder for some reason.
But it wasn't until she felt something press down on top of her head gently that she froze, her sobs getting caught in her throat and her breath hitching. She sniffed once more as she opened her eyes, looking up with blurry vision to see that it was the Prince who was touching her head. His arm outstretched and his hand resting on top of her head, his face still set in a frown.
"If you don't want your Dad to leave, you should say so." He said calmly, but his tone was slightly shaky as if he was nervous for some reason.
The brunette blinked and continued to stare up at him silently.
"Your Dad and Mom loves you." The Prince continued before he pulled his hand away, dropping it to his side almost awkwardly as he glanced off to the side again. "You love them too right? So you should stop crying, it will be okay."
There was a gentle breeze then, causing the leaves on the Cherry blossom trees to rustle a bit, for pedals to fall from the flowers, and even caused some of the Cherry Bloosms themselves to fall from the trees.
The raven haired boy blinked as he glanced up slightly, he then reached his hand out and watched as a Cherry Blossom fell into the palm of his hand. He stared at the light pink pedals of the flowers, feeling the soft silkiness of the pedals as they brushed against his pale skin. He then turned his attention back to the girl. Then, without a second thought, he reached out and placed the Cherry Bloosom on top of her head, where his hand was resting not that long ago.
"You should smile." He said simply.
The brown haired girl stared up at him with widened eyes, her tear stained cheeks flushing a light pink as heat gathered in them. Her heart started to beat faster inside of her chest as she stared up at the Prince.
The young boy then bowed his head and reached up, rubbing the back of it before he took a few steps backwards, moving away from her. He then gave her one last glance before he turned around and walked away without another word.
The young girl then slowly reached up and pulled the Cherry blossom off from her head, holding it gently in her hands as she stared down at it. She then blinked a few times, her cheeks still heated and heart still beating fast as she looked up once more nd watched the Prince walk away.
The young girl's name was Olivia, and due to the young Prince's kindness, she developed a crush on the quiet boy.
