"Ringggggg Ringggggggggg"Omg what is that sound make it stop !
I wake up suddenly. Crap! My alarm. I'm gonna be late. I grab my iPhone and slide it to turn off the annoying ringing. I slide off my bed and land on my floor with a big "THUMP". I stand up quickly, quite embarrassed, and thinking if anyone seen me, I'd never live it down. I guess I spoke too soon.
"Haha loser, mom said hurry up".
I hear the sound of my annoying younger brother.
Could this morning get any worse?
Not that I had learned my lesson beforehand, but once again I have spoken too soon. I slowly get up, and reach my personal bath room, looking so bare. For a second I had forgotten that I was moving, and all of my belongings were packed into boxes and on their way to my new home. I jump into the shower. I knew I didn't have time for my usual forty minute shower so I quickly wash my long brown hair, and scrub the necessary spots, and get out as fast as I can. Then it hits me.
No towel.
I shake my self like a dog, wring my hair out rather aggressively and throw it up into a messy bun. With no one to impress, I throw on a plain black tank top , my favorite pair of skinny jeans torn at the knee, and my red Toms. Do I even need makeup ? I decide that I don't. I grab the very few belongings that I had not yet packed up, and run downstairs to meet my mom, and my rather annoying little brother.
"Well look who finally decided to join us?" , my mom said playfully but still sarcastic.
"Yeah, Yeah I know" I replied, playfully rolling my eyes.
"You guys ready to go?" She's asks.
"No"
"Yes"
"Anna honey, it won't be that bad."
"Yeah I think, for you it won't be. You've never been jerked from the only home you've ever known to be but in some house you've never seen, a town you've never heard of, and leave your only friends behind. I get it mom, we lost dad and you felt you couldn't stay here any longer, but why so far away?"
"We are moving to be closer to your dad's family Anna, there is unfinished business. I know it may be far, but it will be better for us in the long run, I promise. Things will be better.
I knew this conversation was over so I say one last goodbye, to the place I've grown to love over the past seventeen years. Is it okay to cry when your 17 ? I've stopped caring. A single tear rolls down my cheek as I open up the passenger door of my mom's silver SUV.
"Nope! Backseat. I called shotgun earlier!"
"Jake! When did you even mention shotgun"
"When you were over there whining and crying like a big baby"
Sometimes Jake really knows how to piss me off. I know what your thinking. How can I let a 10 year old bother me so bad? Well try living with him. He gets away with everything.
I breathe in slowly. 'Calm down Anna' I repeat over and over in my head.
I know it hadn't been that long since we started
"Are we there yet?"
" Anna honey, you've asked me this, at least 1,000 times."
"Well if you answered me, then I wouldn't ask you so many times."
My mom pulled over the car, and turned around to face me. Tears forming in her eyes.
"Anna I am trying, I am trying so hard to stay strong for the both of you. You are making this worse for me, just be like your brother for once please."
