“Wen get off! I’m running late!!” she desperately tried to shove him off of her. “Sleep.” he mumbled on her shoulder, and placing a small kiss there, and relaxing his grip so she could turn around. “I thought we talked about this.” she softly replied, running her fingers up and down his left arm. He blinked a couple times, adjusting to the bright lighting coming from the sun. He needs to remember to close the curtains next time. His eyes focused on the beauty in front of him, smiling softly at her. “I know you want to sleep.” he said in a deep voice. She almost shivered at his voice, then rubbed her eyes. “No, I’m awake now, and you’re making breakfast.” she joked and poked her tongue out. He chuckled, the vibrations coming from his chest causing her to move along with him for the 2 seconds they lasted. A small kiss made its way on her forehead, sending shots of tingles at the spot because they diffused to the rest of her body, warming it.
“Come on, let’s go out for breakfast.” he suggested. “NO!” she said a bit too fast, causing Wen to furrow his eyebrows together, “I mean, I want to make you breakfast. I -I saw this healthy recipe and I want to try it.” the lie left her lips so smoothly, he almost believed it. “Gemma.” he warned and narrowed his eyes, “I just don’t feel like getting dressed, and I actually want to try the recipe.” she lied again, he wouldn’t let it go. “Two lies in a row? I definitely deserve this honesty you know.” he sarcastically replied, “You want to start a fight?” she asked, trying to avoid the subject at all costs, “No. I’m just glad you lie to me all the time.” he said and got off the bed, leaving her cold as he took all the warmth of his body with him. She sighed quietly and let out a deep breath she didn’t know she was holding once he was in the bathroom. Gemma decided to make breakfast, she knew she lost this battle before it even started.
“Baby, where are you at?” called Wen once he was out of the bathroom. He went downstairs in the kitchen where she was making breakfast. He only had a towel wrapped around his waist, water droplets on his chest and his short hair dripping. She on the other side was in underwear and in a light blue button up shirt of his, he licked his lips looking at her body up and down. “You’ll be the death of me.” he whispered before trailing kisses on her neck. Gemma giggled, feeling ticklish and kind of relieved that he wasn’t mad anymore. “Go shower. I’ll finish up here.” he encourage her. “Thanks baby.” she smiled and pecked his cheek before going upstairs.
“You still want to go out?” she asked him, looking at him while he was eating, fascinated how his lips moved while he chewed the food. He swallowed before sipping his orange juice, licking his lips and then finally replying. “Yes, unless you want to explain why you feel like staying home.” he stared at her, the glass filled with orange juice was on her hands, ready to drink some, but changing her mind the last second. “I just wanted to make breakfast, not biggie.” she said, a small smile on her lips. Every time she looked at him he heart was melting, eager to touch him, hug him, and kiss him. Same feeling every time. He furrowed his eyebrows again, causing some wrinkles to appear on his forehead. He looked like he was thinking deeply, and she reached out to massage his forehead till his wrinkles disappeared, he looked at her again with those emerald green eyes. “You know I don’t believe you right?” he asked with a small smirk. “Yes I do.” she sighed, “But this won’t destroy our day.” she added and got up, taking the plates to the trash and threw the leftovers.
Wen knew the reason Gemma didn’t want to go out. The press and its criticism. He was used to it, but Irianna wasn’t. Same shit for three years now. When were they going to leave them alone? He knew the answer! It came up to him long ago, an engagement ring! He had bought it a couple months ago, but with his constant absence, he never got a chance to use it, but maybe now was his chance.
“Why are you smiling like that?” asked Gemma, he had the brightest smile, making her smile too. She was always happy when he was happy and vise versa. “Mm?” “Oh nothing, I just thought of something.” he said, glancing at her and winking. This definitely had her blushing. His right hand grabbed hers and gave it a small squeeze, before rubbing gentle circles with his thumb.
“Make a right and we are here.” she said and he followed her instructions. Apparently Irianna had discovered a new quiet and peaceful place, she always does anyway. Wen parked the car on the side of the curvy road and she ran outside, calling for him in the process. He smiled at her insouciant and happy self. He was never more sure of doing it, not that he ever doubted it in the first place. All he needed was this exact moment in mid February.
“Baby come on. The lake is beautiful.” she cheered. He chuckled to himself and grabbed the small dark blue box with the ring inside. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=124594730 She looked so beautiful with the beanie. “Coming.” he said and shoved the small box in his pocket, walking to her and catching her in surprise by snaking his hands around her waist. “Look at the lake, it’s all frozen.” she said, puffs of air escaping her mouth as she talked, “Isn’t it beautiful?” she asked and slightly turned her face to the side so she could face him, “Very beautiful.” he commented, looking at her. His compliment was aimed at her, not the lake, he couldn’t take his eyes off the beauty in front of him. He turned her around, surprising her once again.
Oh her smile, her billion dollars smile. And those chocolate colored eyes, he could never get sick of those eyes. He truly loved them. He kneeled down and Gemma looked at him confused, until he pulled the small box from his pocket. He looked at her hands and chuckled, “First time I’m actually glad you’re not wearing gloves.” he jokes, but she didn’t giggle this time. She stayed like that, kind of frozen, waiting for the big question. “I’m not good with the words, but I know that I love you. And no, I’m not going to ask you to marry me, cause as you said, ‘women don’t like questions’, so, marry me!” he said, he was holding her freezing hands with one hand, and his other hand was busy holding the box. She nodded, her smile so big she thought that her face would cut in half. “I love you too baby.” she said as he slid the ring in her finger. “Do you like it?” he asked as he got up, his right arm wrapped around her shoulder and his left hand holding her, playing with the new ring on her finger. “Yes. It’s beautiful. Thank you.” she replied and pecked his lips, before looking down at her finger again.
She definitely did not expect that. She was scared, very scared, when people make such a commitment, they expect more. Does she have more to give him? For now, love was enough. Wen was happy with a smile and a kiss, but now, now everything changes. She glanced up to him, his smile disappeared all the doubts she had. “Why now?” she asked, she didn’t mean bad, but she definitely was curious. He knew about her curiosity, but decided to tease her, “Why? You don’t love me anymore?” he asked, faking hurt, but pulling a sad, pouty face and placing his right hand on his heart. “We all know I’m here for the money.” she joked back and they laughed.
“I got it when I was in Italy.” “That was a long time ago.” she commented, “Yeah, I would have proposed earlier, but I was away.” he explained, “It’s all good now.” She smiled again and shivered, her lips turning blue by the second. “You must be freezing. Let’s go for a hot chocolate.” he said and she nodded before they made their way on the car.
