Anzac song

Ok so on Anzac Day last year I wrote a poem about the Anzacs, it was so good my parents thought I copyrighted it, but I didn't so they entered it in a competition. I didn't win but it is good.

Ps: my writers-circle teacher never liked it. ( writers-circle is an extension writing class, and this is a poem not a song.)

Red poppies are the sign that mark their track,

Thinking of the faces that didn't come back,

With guns all loaded and in their hands,

They didn't move from their stand,

Walking through trenches all wet and yuck,

Be faithful to god and don't get stuck,

The Anzacs were incredibly brave,

Still we weep because of their graves,

They fought for Australia,

Some sick with malaria,

We will never forget,

Those souls we regret.

Not that long sorry, but this was a short poem I wrote last year.
