*Ash's POV
"Ash, I know this is hard, but please try to look at this in a positive manner," my mom apologetically asks me.
My heart is broken. After living in the small town of Pallet for the 15 years of my existence, me and my mom, Delia, are leaving. I guess it is a new beginning though, as I feel sort of alone here, as none of the friends I travelled with in the past live here. At least it's summer, so I'm not missing any school because of the moving process.
"It's going to be hard, mom. I have so many memories in this small town, like receiving Pikachu from Professor Oak when I was ten, helping you flower the garden, and having celebrations after I would come home from my journeys. We are going to leave behind Professor Oak and Tracy, too," I explain to my mother with sadness creeping on my face.
My mom's workplace is about to shut down at the PokeMart in Viridian City, so she is taking matters into her own hands and moving to a large city in the Kalos region named Lumiose City.
My mom and I packed items from the house that are either a necessity or just a special item for the move to Lumiose, as my mom's car can only squeeze in a certain amount of things.
"I'm going to bed mom, I love you, good night," I say with a forced smile on my face.
My mom replies, "Good night Ash, everything will seem better once we get to Lumiose, I promise. Get some quality sleep okay? Make sure you brush your teeth too. Also, make sure t.."
"Mom! I'm fifteen, I know how to do my nightly routine by now," I interrupt her.
My mom can care about me a little too much sometimes.
"I know sweety. I love you," my mom says with a sweatdrop.
I am walking up the stairs to my room, but I notice a family picture of me, my mom, and someone who I'm assuming is my dad. When I asked about it, my mom said he left to go out on a journey to become a Pokemon master, but he hasn't returned.
I go to my bed, to see Pikachu happily sound asleep on my bed. That little rascal can be a hassle sometimes. He is my best friend, though.
"Pikachu, tomorrow is the start of something special, I can feel it. I know we will meet new friends, get to battle other trainers, and become better people as a result!" I excitedly whispered to my sleeping pikachu, before I myself doze off.
~~~
I wake up to the gleaming sunlight through my red window curtains. It is currently 7 in the morning, and my mom said last night to plan to leave at 8 in the morning, as we are planning to fly from the Kanto region to the Kalos region, and we need to get to the new place before the day ends.
"Mom, I'm gonna go out for a walk for a little bit! I'll be back by eight!" I yell to her as I slam the door behind me.
I am out of the house before she can even reply back. She looked disappointed though, as she was cooking eggs. Oh well, I guess she is just going to have to eat a large breakfast.
I am walking along the trail road in the small town of Pallet. I observe the plain birch trees, and the grassy hills, as I make my way to my final destination in Pallet town; the place where it all began.
"Why hello there Ash! I am aware that today is your moving day?" asks Professor Oak with a curious, yet surprisingly positive expression. It isn't a positive expression representing that he wants us to leave, more like a positive expression wishing me good luck.
Professor Oak is the reason I originally got into Pokemon Battling, as I used to watch his lectures on the TV before I got my own Pokemon and got to explore the Pokemon world myself and find things out for myself.
"Unfortunately, yeah, it is," I say with a despairing expression.
"Well, Ash, after your two years of travelling and three years of schooling, I want to let you know that I wish you success in your future. I know that you will become one of the greatest Pokemon trainers to have ever battled with your hard work, integrity, and creative battle style. I hope we see each other again, Ash," says Professor Oak with a grin on his face.
I decided three years ago to start schooling because I had not won a Pokemon league in the four regions I had travelled to, which are the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh region. I like school because it helps me with my battle strategy. I have become a lot of a better trainer since my last journey.
"Thanks Professor Oak, I sure will miss you," I say.
I look at my watch, and it reads 7:35 A.M.
"I have to go Professor. I'll see you around," I say with a fake smile on my face. I really am going to miss this town.
After our goodbyes, I take a deep breath and look at Pikachu sitting on my shoulder. My buddy had woken up with me and walked with me just to keep me company. His loyalty and, like Professor Oak described myself, integrity are the reasons he is my strongest Pokemon and more importantly, my best friend.
"Pikachu, are you ready to begin our new journey?" I ask since he wasn't able to reply last night because he was sleeping.
"Pika!" he shrieks in happiness, as he wags his tail with a smile on his face. I assume he is ready.
When I arrive home, I quickly eat some cereal and brush my teeth. I rinse my mouth with freezing cold water.
"Ahhh, cold, cold," I say.
I guess I could use the move Ice Fang, that's how cold the inside of my mouth feels from that water.
"Ash you ready go honey?" My mom asks with sweet patience. Oh how nice she is.
"Yup! I couldn't be more ready!" I say with great enthusiasm.
As I load my bag into the trunk of the convertible car, I think about how it looks almost identical to Professor Oak's car.
I put in earbuds and begin listening to music, as the breeze from the air while driving pushes against me. I think to myself how ready I am for this new journey. I didn't really have many friends in Pallet, I just enjoyed its peace. I think I am ready to meet new people and experience new things.
