The dismal mother-blue jay was injured
She could not fly up to her babies nest
Getting her to come to me seemed absurd
I had to help, so I would do my best
Would mom enter a box fixed up for her
I thought it couldn't hurt to try this scheme
I had a shoe box that would work for sure
Now to fill it with leaves and Phleum
Needed was a way to seduce the jay
Seduce her to come to me and my box
So with seeds in my hand I hoped to sway
When it worked, I felt as smart as a fox
If there is a word such as beguiler
Without any doubt, I'd be that for sure
