💥"that bitch is me"💥

My feet hang over the side of my bed as I open my laptop. I tap in my password and a tab that I had opened at school stared back at me. It was an entry form for some stupid competition our teacher told us about. The title on the top of the screen read "tell us in the form of an essay, 100 words or less, what you love about travelling and how winning this trip could make you a better person." The grand prize was a trip to Vancouver, Canada. That's a big deal considering I live in Australia. The second prize was a measly $200.

"There's no harm in trying," I say, sighing, opening up Word on my computer and typing the question on my document. I finish writing some sappy, cliche answer about experiencing new cultures and blah blah blah, then I fill out the rest of the form and click submit. Mr Hargrove will be happy I entered. I shut off my computer, and lay in bed. I switch off my lamp and go to sleep.

1 month later

I hop off the school bus as I wave goodbye to my friend Hallie. I begin the trek to my house, which is situated on the end of a col-de-sac. I open the letterbox and grab whatever's inside. Just looks like bank statements and bills to me. I say hi to my mom and dad and chuck my bag on the ground next to my bed. "Y/n, there's something here for you!" My Mum yells from the kitchen. "What is it?!" I yell, too lazy to get up from my comfortable position. "Just come and see!" I hate it when parents do that, why can't you just tell me? I hop up from my bed with a huff and storm into the kitchen.

"Omg, I won! I won!" I scream as I'm jumping up and down with my family, in the middle of our jumping circle the letter saying I won the trip to Vancouver. "Holy shit, I get to miss out on two weeks of school! Now I didn't have to finish that stupid English assignment!" I'm so excited, not necessarily to go to Canada, but to miss out on school. Of course I'll miss my friends, my family and my pets, but holy shit! No homework, no assignments, no presentations, no nothing! I'll be living the life!

The next day
I hop on the bus, as usual it's late, and sit down next to Hallie. "You'll never believe what happened to me last night!" I say, whisper shouting. "No, you'll never believe what happened to me last night." "Ok, you go first," I respond, excited to tell her where I'll be for the next fortnight. "No, you go."
"No, you go."
"No, you."
"Just go."
"Ok. So you know how I told you I was entering some random competition that my home group teacher told me to enter?" I nod my head in understanding, even though i wasn't really listening. "Well, I got second prize, and I won $200! Some other bitch got first place though, they won a trip to Canada. "O-oh, well congrats! Good job!"
"Now, what were you going to tell me?"
"Oh, it's nothing really. Not as exciting as that." I nervously giggle as I rub my sweaty palms together.
"Just say it!"
"Ok, well. See the thing is, that bitch that beat you in the competition? That bitch is me."

After a while of explaining what happened, Hallie finally congratulates me.

School was average, I had possibly the most boring maths lesson ever, although it was made better since I'm sitting behind Mitchell Adams, the hottest boy in year 10. We've talked a few times before, but we haven't chatted recently. Although today, he forgot his pencil, and he asked me if I could lend him one, so I said yes, and then he said thank you. Am I the only one hearing wedding bells?

When I get home I immediately start packing my suitcase full of clothes, shoes, chargers, makeup and more, this trip is going to be amazing. My flight leaves in two days, I can't wait!

a/n: welcome to this new story I'm writing, can you guess what's going to happen? If you're enjoying it so far, please take a moment to check out my other book "starstruck - wyatt Oleff", which if you couldn't tell is a wyatt Oleff fan fic. Once again, thanks for all your continued support!
