Prelude

Greetings, readers! (If any.) This is a romance novel regarding Ryuunosuke Naruhodo and Susato Mikotoba from the game Dai Gyakuten Saiban, which translates to the Great Ace Attorney. An understanding of that game would give an understanding of these characters, however, if you all want to read a romance novel, be my guest. Leave any comments for suggestions on future chapters and critique. One more thing, there will be 2 smut chapters somewhere in this book. So if you're not into that, you can skip over it. Of course, I'll let you all know when smut will ensue. Nonetheless, I hope you people enjoy this novel.

--February 22nd, 9:10 AM-- Steamship Aliclaire Kazuma's Room

The ship rocked to and fro, which felt like a lifetime to Ryuunosuke, who was stuck in a box of luggage hidden inside a dresser for most of the ride, with a small peep hole made by Susato to breathe air through. He'd let out multiple groans as his body was put in the luggage in a contorted position, with his back and legs killing him. He'd try to be as silent as possible, as maids would always check into rooms while their occupants were away to clean or pick up anything that the ship carelessly tossed around in the cabins. He always thought that it was nice of Kazuma to bring him along to Great Britain. He originally was only to take Susato Mikotoba, as per the request of her father. However, Susato practically begged to take Ryuunosuke, and easily won them over. Of course, the only way to get him on the ship in the first place was to jam him in luggage.

"Alright, Naruhodo-sama, time for you to get ou-" Is what Ryuunosuke hears before Susato opens the dresser door, along with the ships movements forcing him to tumble out onto the floor, groaning upon the impact.

"Oh, Ryuunosuke. Were you relaxed in there?" Kazuma, Ryuunosuke's best friend asks as they all erupt in laughter, with the boy laid out on the floor laughing the least.

Susato sat Ryuunosuke up against the foot of Kazuma's bed asking where he felt the most sore, and upon learning that his back, legs, and shoulders encountered the most, she immediately went to work to massage them. Naruhodo let out pleased hums as the girl he had a slight crush on applied pressure to those areas. Susato giggled in response to his hums as she tried to make Ryuunosuke feel as refreshed as possible. She tried not to stare too much but unbeknownst to him, her feelings for Ryuunosuke grew ever since that trial in Japan.

Ryuunosuke was accused of the murder of one John H. Watson, and bravely, although somewhat foolishly decided to defend himself in court. Starting off sloppy with little to no court knowledge, he proceeded to gain an understanding of the court system and efficiently ended up declaring the true culprit, Jezail Brett, guilty. Watching this from the gallery of that trial ignited a small fire in Susato's heart at Ryuunosuke's bravery, and became somewhat fond of him. She knew that on Kazuma's trip, that he had to be brought along. Especially through the growing knowledge that she'd be able to help both Kazuma and Ryuunosuke with their Defense careers.

Susato was snapped out of her thoughts when Ryuunosuke rested his hand on Susato's, thanking her immensely for soothing the sore muscles he had. In that exact moment, their eyes met, and they both froze as their eyes were locked on to one another. They both felt a state of panic and captivation as a small spread across both of their faces. This combination of emotions regarding the feelings of love and panic regarding their current situation intertwined as Susato became lost in the smooth vortex of Ryuunosuke's opal eyes while he himself became fascinated with Susato's chocolate orbs.
