If you're reading this, you either know who I am, you're curious as to what this is, or both! Well, this account is a reflection of me and my passions. I want this to be a space where content that focuses on the creation of fictional black and LGBT+ characters, as well as the real experiences of the everyday black and/or LGBT+ youth from an American standpoint. This includes original novels, short stories, character treatments, essays & journal entries, interviews, and short films.
I'm [currently] a film major with a black world studies minor, so this is clearly something I feel strongly about. Our narratives aren't told often, and then they are, they're told through the lens of a cis-gender, straight, white, old men.
I'm working alone on this right now, but I'm not opposed to making this a collaborative effort with other passionate souls who want to creatively promote social justice.
This is a safe space. All races, genders, sexualities, etc. are welcome to participate in this, but just keep in mind, if you don't identify with this, just know this isn't created for you, and won't be. You're not my niche, BUT you are more than welcome here if you are respectful and open to learning.
Topics of racism, colorism, cultural appropriation, black lives matter vs "blue lives" and "all lives," homophobia, transphobia will be covered. Hateful speech will not be tolerated, mockery will not be tolerated. Debate is open, just keep it... educated.
Thanks for you time and I can't wait to create!
