Finn huffed, propping his elbows on to the table as his cheeks rested on his palms. He huffed again. The younger boy still wasn't budging. Finn decided to do it again.

Jack pretended to not notice as he continued to explain the topic to Finn. "The atoms for-Finn please pay attention"

Finn sighed "How I'm I supposed to pay attention to you if your not paying attention to me" Jack scrunched his eyebrows up in confusion. He is literally trying to help Finn.

"I'm always paying attention to you" Jack said as he leaned back on his chair taking a little break. "Even when I don't want to"
Finn made a face. "You only pay attention to my grades. There's a difference"

"Isn't that what I'm supposed to do?" Jack asked somehow his tone came off as sarcastic. Finn shrugged fighting off a smile. Jack returned to his normal position and went on with the topic. Finn this time actually paid attention but he was beginning to get bored.

"Can I have your number?" He suddenly asked trying to change the topic.

"No" Jack replied quickly. Finn groaned as he leaned back on his chair. "Besides you need to focus, we have a science test remember?"

"Please?"

"No Finn" Jack shook his head but it looked like Finn wasn't giving up. Jack fiddled with the mini fan he had made out of paper. Today's a hot day. Especially in the library, the school hadn't put some fans or ACs so it was really hot. Finn tugged on his shirt multiple times, trying to at least fan himself.

"I think we should take a break" he said as he slumped even more on his chair getting lower. Jack nodded, agreeing before slumping in his chair like Finn. From afar he could hear the librarian muttering about how she hates the library and that it's too hot.

Finn began lazily packing up his book while Jack was still in his chair fanning himself with his head thrown back. He might stay in the library for a while to find new books. Finn looked at Jack before looking back at his bag. He was hesitant. He wanted to ask Jack if he wanted to get some ice cream but Jack might reject.

The library grew quite since only 3 people were in. Silence lingered between the 2 boys. As if they were each waiting for each other to say something.

"I'm heading out for ice cream. D-" Finn began only to be cut off by Jack.
"Can I come? It's sorta boring here" Jack sheepishly shrugged with a little smile. Finn was a little shocked. He smiled a little too.

"Yeah"

Jack began packing up as Finn waited patiently. Once he was done the two boys went for their ice cream. It wasn't very far, just a few blocks ahead the school but to Jack it felt like a eternity as he walked beside Finn who was being cocky as usual.

"Do you ever stop talking?" Jack asked clearly amused as he stared at Finn for a while before looking ahead. Finn blushed but soon cleared his throat.

"And you're point is what Jackie?"

"I'm just amused. It's nothing really"

Jack's eyes widen as he felt Finn wrap an arm around him then ruffled his hair. "Aw you're turning soft!"

Jack grimaced as he tried to get Finn off him but the boy wouldn't budge. Jack sighed as they kept on walking. Yup.

It was a long one.
