"Derek, we won!" I said, hopping out of the Jeep. "We kicked ass! Well Scott mostly but still!" I said happily, walking up to the abandoned house. I opened the door and peered inside.

"Hello?" I called out to the empty place. I stepped into the foyer and looked around. I walked into the living room where Derek was always relaxing. Nothing. I ran to the back of the house. Still empty.

"If this is a joke it's seriously not funny. Where are you? And don't scare me!" I called out, walking up the stairs. I walked into his room and frowned. This was too weird. Derek's car was out front and he never left without it.

I pulled out my phone and called Scott, trying to hide my worried tone. "Ummm, hey Scott, could you possibly come meet me at Derek's?" I asked. "No we're not having sex." I groaned. "I know it's late at night, just hurry up!" I yelled, hanging up. I sat down on the stairs and waited, staring at the door.

About ten minutes later Scott opened the door, wearing only his shorts. I looked at him and he shrugged. "Why did I have to get outta bed?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Do you notice anything odd?" I asked. He looked around with his tired eyes and looked back at me, clearly not seeing anything. "There's no sour wolf."

"What do you mean?" Scott asked, frowning at me.

"I mean his car's out front but he's not here. I mean I think someone took him." I said finally. Scott's weird opened up more at those words and he looked more alert.

"Peter?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders because I truly didn't know. "Well what if he's just gone for a while?" He asked.

"That's not like Derek at all." I said. He seemed to contemplate the idea and he seemed to be thinking really hard.

"Maybe he'll show up tomorrow?" He wondered.

"Stay here with me?" I asked. He nodded and he walked into the living room. "He keeps blankets in here." I said, opening up the door under the stairs.

I brought him a blanket and he gladly accepted it, wrapping himself up. "It's weird that he keeps new clean things in this old dusty house." Scott said. I went back and grabbed mines, laughing to myself.

"I told him the same thing." I said, also grabbing the bat I kept here. I walked back with both things and Scott made a face at me.

"Is that my bat?" He asked. I nodded and he frowned. "You know how crazy I looked at home looking for that thing?" He asked.

"You don't need a bat. You got fangs and claws." I told him.

"And you have a machete." Scott retorted.

I was glad it was dark so Scott couldn't see the blush that was apparent on my face. "My dad found the machete and confiscated it." I admitted. I waited for Scott's response and his hearty laugh filled the air with warmth.

"That's too classic." He said.

"Well that's my dad." I said, curling up on the couch, a bit away from Scott. I wrapped my blanket around me and listened to the soft snores that emitted from Scott. I let the sound become a melody that drifted me to sleep.

"Stiles wake up." A voice whispered. I felt my body moved and I cracked one eye open to look at a frowning Scott. He shook his head when I fully opened my eyes, answering my question before I asked it.

"Well what now?" He asked me.

"We find Peter." I said.

"Well I wouldn't want you boys to be looking too hard." A voice said from behind the wall. Peter stepped from behind it, causing me to grab the bat and Scott to growl.

"An omega and a human with a bat?" Peter chuckled. "Oh no, I'm suddenly terrified." He said, moving closer to us. Scott rose a bit off of the couch, ready to strike at him. Peter raised his finger and wagged it at him.

"I'll-I'll-I'll hit you." I said, raising the bat slowly. Suddenly every instinct in my body was screaming at me to run away. To just take Scott and get out of this room, away from Peter and don't look back.

"Are you going to run away?" Peter asked me with a smile.

"No!" I said, ignoring my instincts and acting brave.

"You're lying. Your heart just started beating faster. You're lying and you're scared." Peter said, a sadistic smile playing on his lips.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I see why Derek likes you. You got spunk. That was always a trait my nephew had when deciding whether or not he liked someone." Peter said.

"That still doesn't explain what you want." I said. He took a step closer and Scott growled.

"Right there is fine." Scott said. Peter smirked and turned his attention back to me.

"It has come to my attention that a very annoying hunter took my nephew." He told me.

"How do we know you didn't take him?"

"Because Stiles I wouldn't hurt my family." He said, making a hurt face.

"You tried to kill us twice before!" I screened at him.

"You boys attacked me. I was just defending myself."

"That's crap." Scott yelled.

"Fine, believe whatever. Just know that the hunters have your mate and will probably kill him." Peter said.

"We can get him back ourselves." I said, lowering my voice.

"Whatever you say. Just know the hunters won't hesitate to put a bullet through your little skulls. You've been warned." Peter said, turning to leave. Scott charged off the chair and Peter back handed him, causing him to fall to the ground. With a final laugh Peter was gone.

"We are seriously going to cook his wolf ass." I said. Scott shrugged off the slap and turned to me.

"You think he was telling the truth?"

"I don't know what to think. But it's a lead so we'll have to consider it."

"This means we'll have to go against Allison's family." Scott said, putting his head down. I looked at him in pity, frowning at his difficult relationship.

"We just have to get Derek. Nothing else and nobody knows you're a wolf so we have the element of surprise."

"I won't hurt Allison."

"Nobody's asking you Scott. I'm just asking you to help me get Derek back." I said softly.

"You know I will as long as Allison doesn't get involved."

"I promise you she won't." I said, meaning it in all honesty. There were already too many hunters to deal with so we shouldn't include more. Her dad and aunt were already enough for us two.

"Okay I'm in then."
