The first bell rang in Yancy Academy and all the students shuffled into their homerooms. In one of the classrooms, the kids were being crazy as usual, except for three kids in the back of the classroom and the teacher, Mr. Brunner, was trying to calm them down. Little known to everyone in the room, the three children in the back were not normal. Two were demigods, and the other was a satyr. The teacher was actually Chiron, immortal trainer of heroes, and a centaur.

The four of them were here on a mission. Grover (the satyr) had apparently picked up a huge demigod scent in the school, and called the others. They came to help him identify who this demigod was and why they emitted such a strong aura.

Once Mr. Brunner had calmed the classroom down, a boy walked into the classroom. He was holding pages of information in one hand and a cane in the other. It was one of those canes that blind people used to find their way around. He was also wearing a pair of dark shades over his eyes.

“Hello, I’m new here, my name is Percy Jackson,” he said as he placed the papers on Mr. Brunner’s desk.

“Ah, thank you my dear boy,” Mr. Brunner said, quickly scanning the pages, making sure everything was in order. “Thalia!” he called to one of the girls in the back. “Can you please help Mr. Jackson his seat please,” he asked her.

“Of course,” she said as she grabbed the boys arm and led him to one of the seats in the back. Once he was settled and the teacher had explained what the task was, everyone got to work.

Thalia had been paired with Percy to help do his work, since he could not see, read, or write.

“Hi! My name is Thalia,” she said.

“Nice to meet you,” was all he said. The girl who was sitting next to Thalia on her other side, leaned over.

“And I’m Annabeth,” He turned towards her and bowed his head in greeting. Suddenly Grover had a good idea.

“Hey Percy! My name is Grover, and I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with, Thalia, Annabeth and I?” At this he smiled and nodded.

“I would love to,”

PERCY P.O.V.

“I would love to,” I told him. Ah! They have finally found me. I was wondering how long it would take before a satyr noticed my scent and picked up my trail. Though I must say I was a bit surprised when I walked in and saw Chiron sitting in wheelchair form at the desk, and that there were two more demigods here too.

I should probably explain. You see, I am blind and I know I am a demigod. My mother was the mortal and my father was the god. My mother died when I was very young so my father secretly took me in and looked after me. It was then and there that I found out that my father was Poseidon, God of the Seas. Even though I am blind, I can sort of see. I see with the water particles in the air, so, when I’m underwater I can see perfectly, with every single detail. There was one problem though, I couldn’t read or write, since those 2D things were impossible to see with my condition.

About a year ago, dad decided it would be a good idea to send me to school, and go to camp. He told me that a satyr would probably find me and take me there, but would watch over me for a bit. And now, they had finally found me.

The bell went and I heard everyone start to get up.  I quickly followed suit, pulling my cane out in front of me and grabbing the one piece of paper of my table, my schedule. Now, I don’t really need the cane, I just use it so people don’t get suspicious.

“Um, Grover, do you think you can help me with my timetable?” I asked him, since I sensed that he was still standing next to me.

“Of course!” he exclaimed, as he slowly pulled the paper out of my hands, as if not to startle me.

“You have…”

And that was the start of my friendship with Thalia, Annabeth, and Grover.
