Chapter 3

THIRD PERSON

No one would notice anything strange about Thalia and Percy as they made their way down the corridor to Chiron’s office. They saw the blind child walking to class with his friend, but how wrong they were.

They stood in front of the office door for a moment before smiling at each other and knocking.

“Come in!” they heard from the other side on the door. “Ah, Thalia and Percy,” Chiron exclaimed once they had opened the door.

“Well, sir, Percy needed some help on his homework,” Thalia said, going with the plan they had concocted earlier.

“Really? And what can I help you with Mr. Jackson?” he asked.

Percy furrowed his eyebrows in a look of fake confusion.

“Well you see sir, I got a bit confused with the whole demigod concept,” He said, noting every little flicker in his expression. “Now, I get that there are ancient laws saying that the demigod child can’t be in contact with their godly parent but really what was the purpose of that if the gods break it. And the other question of why gods make vows if they are just going to break them eventually?” Chiron now had a confused look on his face.

“We didn’t cover any of this in class,” he murmured. Percy smirked.

“Oh, I know that,” he said as he pulled his hand out of Thalia’s. “My main question was…” he took off his glasses. “…Why you let a fury run loose in the school Chiron?” he finished, looking straight into Chiron’s eyes. At this Chiron’s mouth hung open and he gaped like a fish.  Thalia couldn’t hold her laughter in anymore.

‘Oh my gods Chiron your face is priceless!” she cackled out, close to rolling on the floor. Percy chuckled to himself.

“Well I guess my secret is out now. Hello Chiron, my name as you well know is Perseus Jackson and I am the demigod son of Poseidon. I am trained in combat and am actually blind.”

“H-H-how?” Chiron managed to stammer out.

“Easy. Father helped,” again Chiron was rendered speechless. And it took his about a minute to regain his thoughts.

“Well it seems we don’t have to say here any longer, we should go to camp,”

“GREAT!” Thalia and Percy shouted together.

The three of them waited at the van for Grover and Annabeth. Percy had completely ditched his glasses and was currently using his sight normally.

When they finally showed up they went straight to Chiron and Thalia, completely ignoring Percy.

“So you found the demi-god?” asked Annabeth, curiously.

“Yep,” replied Thalia, looking smug that she was the one who found him.

“Then who is it?” asked Grover.

“That would be me,” Percy cut in walking forwards. “Nice to see you again” Grover and Annabeth stared at him as if he had walked out of the ground.

“How?” Annabeth asked, addressing the question to Chiron.

“Honestly, I haven’t the slightest, but I do know that he is telling the truth,”

“But how, he is blind. There has never been a blind demigod before,” Grover also asked Chiron. Percy, being annoyed that they were ignoring him, stomped his foot on the ground, causing a slight tremor in the earth. That drew everyone’s attention toward him.

“Great, now that I have your attention I can explain. You see I have no idea why I am blind but I know everything there is to know about the demigod world and am not completely helpless, I mean I did just defeat a Fury so start paying attention, I am not invisible,”

Grover and Annabeth flinched at the accusations. They both apologized profusely.

“Come now children, let’s all go to camp,” Chiron said as he gestured to the vehicle behind them. As they were walking towards it, Percy pulled Thalia to the side and whispered into her ear.

‘Let’s keep tricking Annabeth and Grover, it will just be funnier when they find out that I can see,” They both snickered at the thought.

Thalia once again linked her arm with Percy’s and his eyes dulled once more as she led him to the bus.

Sorry for the incredibly short chapter but i will make the next one longer. Enjoy!
