The Truth

Chapter 15

I wake up as I feel someones rubs my back. I open my eyes and look around, it's J, he is sitting on my bed.By rising sun I can say it's early morning.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him, rubbing my eye.

"I came here to say goodnight" he replies softly.

I rise my eyebrow. Is he serious ?

"And the real reason."

"I need to leave for a few days to handle some work issues." He says almost whispering.

"I'm sorry."

"I know how important this internship is for you, but it really is important."

"Cam, if only I could stay here with you, but.."

"It's ok, I understand, you can go" I interrupt him with a small smile.

"Are you sure?" he looks concern.

"Yeah, I'll be fine, don't worry, I know that if you need to go it's really important. Besides I'll ask Lexi to come and visit me, while you aren't here. I think she needs the escape right now." I smile at him.

J rises his eyebrow.

"Well in a few words she tried to kiss Daren while she was drunk".

We both laugh.

"Ok,I will stay here until she comes. After she is here I'll go. Now go to sleep, I've some work to do" He kisses my cheek and leaves my room.

I turn around and try to get to sleep, but now it's pointless. I take my phone and scroll through latest news. Gossips, gossips, gossips, nothing interesting. I put my phone on the night stand and turn on my back, staring at the selling I replay what uncle and Lexi told me. Maybe it's time to move on? But is J a right person to me? With this thoughts I drift to sleep.

I wake up from my ringing phone, I don't look at the screen and swipe to answer.

"Are you ready to partyyyyyyy?" Lexi screams into the phone.

"Easy,easy, you definitely want me to get deaf" I laugh.

"Oh well, sorry for that, I'm just super exited to finally see you! Jared called me and told me everything." She says.

"So am I, can't wait to hear the rest of the story" I reply to her smiling.

"Well I'll tell you but later, right now I'm packing my bag, my flight is tonight, so I'll see you tomorrow and I can't wait."

"Ok. see you later...and Lexi don't take that dress..."

"Can't promise, love you!"She says and hangs up the phone before I could tell anything else.

I love this women. I think everyone should have a one crazy friend. Well soon she will be here and we will have a lot of fun, as we always do.

I hear a knock on my door, I look at the door frame and see J is here.

"Hey" He smiles at me.

"Hey" I reply to him in a whisper.

"I thought we could go for a dinner in the evening , you know before I go."

"I think it's a great idea".

"Perfect" he says and turns around and goes in the direction of his room.

Well I better get up from my bed.Today I want to work on my project and I have plenty of time for that. Besides Lexi will come soon and she definitely won't let me work.

I get up from my bed, take my sweatpants and a t-shirt and go to the bathroom. I enter the bathroom put my clothes on a sink, strip from my pajama and enter the shower. I turn on the water and hot stream starts to fall down on my body. I wash my hair with my favorite shampoo which smells like jasmine. After I'm done showering I step out from the shower, I whip myself and putt on clean clothes. I exit the bathroom, take my MacBook and make my way to the kitchen where I pour myself coffee and seat at the table. I open my MacBook and start to look through my last recordings.

Time flies super fast and I realize it's already evening. I've been working on my project with so much enthusiasm that I lost a track of the time.I haven't seen J for almost all day. Few times he came to the living room but then he disappeared in his room. He looked very concerned. Maybe I should ask him about our dinner. I close my MacBook, stand up and go to the direction of J's room. I knock at the door, but he doesn't reply, I knock again, again nothing. I push the door little bit and say loud enough for him to hear. I don't want any awkward moments.

"J are you here?"

Still silent.

"J I'm coming, so if you are naked, you should putt on some clothes" I giggle but there is no respond.

I enter into his room. It'a such a mess. All the documents are on the floor, his laptop is on the desk, before I could look for more mess a figure standing on the balcony catch my attention.I come closer, it's J. He is talking on the phone with someone and he looks very angry. I open the balcony door and step in it. J immediately turns to me.

"I'll call you back" He says in strict tone as he the hangs up the phone and looks at me.

"I didn't want to interrupt you,but you wasn't answering and I came here to check if we still going out" I say with a smile.

"You didn't. It's just Daren, you know how annoying he could be." He replays turning his head to look at the city.

"Yeah I know...What was I saying, oh yeah, about our dinner?" I ask him.

"I totally forget about it, I'm sorry Cam, it's just work. It's really important issue and I can't figure out how to deal with it. " He says running his hand through his hair.

I've never seen him so concern. I guess it's really something important since Daren asked J to help him with it. It's not like J works with Daren all the time, but sometimes Daren gives him some tasks. I think only because only J can do it in a way Daren need it to be done.

"Camil I am really sorry, I didn't want to break my promise to you, but I'm afraid we have to cancel on it. Before Lexi arrives I have plenty work to do and I just can't let Daren down." He breaths out slowly, putting his hand on the balcony railing he puts his head down.

"That's ok. Don't worry. Continue with work and I'll prepare something or order." I give him a small smile.

I come closer to him and hug him. I know he feels guilty and I understand him. J is  a man of his word and he hates to break his promises.

" I'll make it up you when I'm back" J pulls me closer to him, putting his one hand on my wait and he other on my face, he rubs my cheek and says.

"I promise".

I give  him a small smile while J looks straight into my eyes he whispers.

"Oh Cam how I wish I could stay here with you....but I promise no matter what I always be here for you and I'll do anything for you".

I feel how my cheek start to hit up. J runs his thumb over my lower lip, he looks into my eyes and I see in them how serious he is about his promise. He starts to come closer when his phone starts to ring. He gently pull me away, taking his phone from his pocket, he looks at it and peeks it up and before start his conversation he looks at me with a smile and say.

"I don't thing we have food, we didn't go to the grocery last night, so better order something at your taste"

I nod at his words and turn around, before exit his room I turn around and look at J's back, he is looking at the night sky while talking with someone on the phone. I look at him and   inadvertently put my index finger on my lower lip.

Would I kiss him back if he kissed me?

With that thought I went to my room to pic up my phone and order us some food.
